The polls are tightening because the MSM wants them to.
I don't think they are. At all. I wouldn't be surprised to see a blowout of epic proportions. Nothing has gone right for the republicans. Nothing has changed the equation. Nothing for McCain, anyway.

4. they aren't tightening, one poll brings average down a bit but
if you go to the link and look at the graph, put your curser over it, you will be delighted to see that Obama's average poll numbers are higher than ever now.
Also, on Intrade, he's holding at around 87.7+-. McCain is at about 11-12!

5. The narrative is that Obama's leading in the electoral votes. It is NOT that polls are tightening..
Gallup has Obama's lead growing. So do most state polls. Don't worry about 1 or 2 polls.

7. jenmito.
I hate to sound old fashioned. I'm basing a lot on specific instances. I'm in Iowa. 82 year-olds who've never voted democrat in their live voting for Barama. That's what he said!! It's a gut feeling. Not like Kerry in 04. There is a ton of passion here! Landslide.

12. The RCP is at 7.3. That is only a .3 change from yesterday and is still higher
than it was last week. I don't think the polls are tightening so much either.

What's your point?

For every tracker that got closer, another one got wider.

Since when do you believe in Gallup? My point, again. The MSM will do its very best to say that this race is too close to call. Even though, state polls say it's going to be a blowout. Excluding MSNBC. There WILL be a roadmap for McCain to win this thing. According to the pundits.

and have not been for the past week. I'll trust BBC over the US TV networks that want to keep viewership up by convincing people McCain still has a shot.
