Sarah Palin may be guilty of the same type of graft as Ted Stevens.
There are a lot of questions about the big house that Sarah and Todd Palin claim to have "built with their own hands" in Wasilla. Interestingly, when Palin was mayor she removed requirements that city contracts be public information.

However, it is clear that the Palins big house is right next to the big sportsplex boodoggle that Palin contracted while she was mayor. And it appears that the materials for her house were provided by the same vendors who provided the materials for the sportsplex.

Todd Palin says that he "and a bunch of buddies" built the house. Who are those buddies, Todd? Do you mind if we take a look at your receipts for the materials? You paid for them out of your own pocket, right? 'cause you and your wife know it would be wrong to have used her political position to get free or reduced cost materials, or free or reduced cost labor? And you and your wife know that it would be wrong to give a city contract for tens of millions of dollars to build a sportsplex and then "coincidentally" get a deal from the same contractor to build your house? That would be graft and kick-backs and influence peddling, maybe even RICO violations. Scary stuff. Sure you know that, dontcha Todd?

You betcha.

4. My thoughts exactly...
Now the bloom is off the Palin rose, Alaskans may be pissed at her for making the whole state look like a bunch of drooling trigger-happy idiots. Her decent from power may be more swift and brutal than anyone could have thought one month ago.

5. She's rapidly making enemies within the Republican Party, too.
Palin appears to be the next "anointed one" for the religious right, which is royally ticking off the old-time Republicans. She's in the way of a lot of people. Consider Mitt Romney, for one. Does he want Palin in his way when he runs in 2012?

Before I put myself out there like Palin has done, I'd want to be sure that I was squeaky clean. She is anything but clean. If she is guilty of graft, I give her three months before it all comes down on her. She won't have anywhere to hide.

17. the alaska GOP is going to eat her alive

because she stepped on toes, crossed them and then embarrassed them.

let's remember that the investigation into trooper-gate was a republican committee, and the GOP up there is trying to maintain credibility.

she said she would cooperate.

then she became VP pick and started playing games. she brought in fancy out-of-state lawyers, started messing with the investigation, tried to call them partisan, etc.

and they all apparently really love that mohegan guy.

6. Take a look at the photos of Sarah's house in Wasilla
For comparison's sake, here's a website with various pictures of the rest of Wasilla, Alaska:

Now here's Sarah's house, supposedly built all by Todd with his own little hands!

9. It's also illuminating to compare
the big windows on her house with the windows at the sport arena. They look identical except for arrangement and molding.

All I can say is that's one fugly house for half a million.

13. Could be a pontoon boat? By the way, she polluted the lake. No fish now.
The lake used to be pristine, but Palin's various deals with corporate interests have resulted in the lake being so polluted it no longer supports life.

11. You betcha' Hey, Mr. Hardballs Chris Matthews or
Mr. Worst Person in the World Keith Olberman: how about sending some of your excellent sleuths up there - to Alaska, ya' know - and look into this interesting connection:

Is the corrupt Stevens contractor, the same one who built the Wasilla multi-million dollar sports complex, the same one who helped Tadd Palin build his 1/2-million dollar house on Lake Louise? Was the material and labor on the up-and-up or was it a favor to the Mayor & Shadow Mayor for their generous help in getting the $22+ million dollar contract to build the Wasilla Sports Complex?

Was this a favor to Senator Stevens so he could get his 1/4-million dollar addition made to his house? WTF is going on? Is there a corruption connection? Does the MAVERICK pair have anything to say?

Let's see 'em.
