Nice Obama reaction at lunch today
I go to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants on Monday and pick up an order to go. It's one of those where they make your order for your as you move along a line so you come into contact with 4 or 5 people.

So, I put in my order, the woman looks up and me then smiles more broadly than usual. The next woman in line does the same thing. Great BIG smile. Repeats for the next people in line. The one at the cash register was the most friendly of all. Two of them said "have a great day". What's up with that I thought. Am I having a good hair day or something? They are pleasant but usually not "wanna be your best friend" nice.

I thought it very strange. Nice, but VERY strange.

As I was sitting here watching Chris Matthews I decided to take my Obama button off my shirt so it didn't go through the laundry that way.

And it hit me. Like the "coulda had a V-8 commercial".

That's why they were smiling and so nice to me. I live in a VERY red state. We're all a little shocked by all the Obama support here in Utah.

2. Were you in Chipotle?
It's one of my son's favorite places to eat. The people who work there always seem very pleasant.

10. I don't think Utah will go blue BUT the Mormons are PISSED at McCain picking Palin over Romney
several tell me they will not vote for McCain because of it. My guess is Obama gets a few votes for the wrong reason (Palin over Romney) but still, he's down 25% or so (although there hasn't been a poll since 9/10.

That said, those of you you live around here drive up "I" street if you wanna feel good. I swear every 3rd house is all dressed up in dem. There was a McCain sign up for awhile but its gone now. Blue all the way home (16th Ave) for me!

Oh, and we're having a Obama call party here on Halloween if anyone is interested.

5. Utah could at least be fairly purple on Nov 4th.
I live in Utah too and I've had similar experiences with people when they see me wearing my Obama shirts.

Salt Lake County is the biggest voting block here and it will end up going heavily for Obama. Utah could be blue by 2012, as hard as it may be to believe.

7. I love wearing my Obama button...
not only do I feel the vibes from others, but I am on my best behavior, a kinder, gentler Stillcool, which feels pretty good too.
