Former Bush speechwriter David Frum predicts McCain loss and GOP meltdown

In an opinion piece that appeared in the Sunday edition of the Washington Post, David Frum opines that, not only will Senator John McCain lose the presidential election; he will drag the Republican Party down with him.

Who is David Frum and why would he predict such a gloomy outcome? David is a Neoconservative Canadian import who was a special assistant to President Bush, a Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (which sold us the wonderful Iraq war) and he was also one of Bush’s speechwriters. He coined the phrase “axis of evil” but when his wife, Danielle Crittenden, boasted of that in an email, Frum became a “former speechwriter” for reasons that are unclear. One thing is certain; Frum is still loyal to the cause.
