I voted for Obama today!!!
I almost did not vote. I am so sick and tired of the Dems and the Repugs that I have almost completely given up hope on this country.

I am not an avid Omama fan because I believe he is somewhat of a status Quo polititian; but, McCain's race baiting and campaign of code word hate speach and division has forced me to do. I know in my heart that on this score Obama will indeed offer a true change, and that is good enough for me.

And yes, DEMOCRAT all the way down baby.

2. I did too!!!
But I am a lot more optimistic about it all than it sounds like you are. I don't like the division and rancor either, but I think people are not primarily defined by whether they are Dem or Repub. They're all people--and I've had some really awesome, honest, respectful conversations in the past couple of days with some very conservative Republicans. We will never agree on politics, but this election is waking people up and making them think and talk about the direction our country is going. It's making some single-issue voters (abortion) at least wrestle with the other issues facing our country. It's making low-information voters a little less...low. :)

That's change. It's not overnight transformation. But it's the small changes like those that will add up to a new direction. And even if they don't want to admit it, Obama's candidacy sparked it. We sparked it.

So I'm excited to have voted today. It's historic, and it's special. And it already HAS brought change to our country. :)

4. You are right. Change does happen in small steps and sometimes it is just easier to become
frustrated.

I have voted Dem in the last several elections, but I did not like the lack of Dem leadship when it came to this war, loosing our constitutional rights, and their general lack of standing up to Bush over the last couple of years.

But it is time to look ahead, not behind. Thanks for the pep talk.
