Surprising narrative on MSNBC today-Obama doing VERY well-EV map EXPANDING
Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 10:25 AM by jenmito
I was SURE I'd hear about how "the polls are tightening" with a couple examples. Instead, I keep hearing about how Obama had a great weekend (poll-wise in the states) and how it looks like McCain will have a VERY hard time catching him. Then Charlie Cook was on saying the polls are NOT really tightening and how Obama's in a very good place. They DID show Palin's entire rally, but their comments were pretty much about the in-fighting, her clothes, etc. They also showed McCain's entire speech about the economy where he kept caughing, messing up his words, looking and sounding old and grouch, etc. I LIKE the news today. :)

1. Now that it is so obvious the Obama is going to win
The MSM is going to have to shift gears and raise his expectations. If they kept up this "too close to call" nonsense and then Obama won with over 370 electoral votes, they would be forced to portray it as a monumental landslide. They have a week to establish some unrealistic goal for Obama to reach so that when he "only" wins 350 or so EV it will be seen as underperforming.

2. Boy, I sure like your account better than a lot of the stuff floating around here today.
Others were going on about how much time Palin & McNasty were getting, etc.

7. Thanks. McPalin WAS getting coverae, but that doesn't mean it was GOOD.
They DID show both of their speeches, but there wasn't much positive talk about them. Mostly about how there's in-fighting, how it's NOT what they want to be focused on in the last week of the campaign, how Obama's leading in many "red" states, how HIS closing argument will be about bringing people together, etc.

And I didn't think Joe Scarborough and crew were sad or anything. They could've easily pointed to the couple polls that had the race "tightening," but they didn't. They went on and on about how well Obama's doing and about how poorly the McCain camp has been run. Chuck Todd even said that although McCain WANTS to win PA, he thinks McCain and his camp wrongly assumed that they'd be able to peel away Hillary supporters, "working-class white voters," etc., but it obviously isn't working that way.

3. (Up) Chuck Fraud still seem despondent
The math no longer supports keeping VA and CO out of Obama's column, and this makes (Up) Chuck Fraud sad.

9. I didn't see him as looking sad at all. He seemed perfectly ok with
putting CO and VA in the Obama column. He went on to say they don't go only by polls, but by other information (such as organization) when putting states into each category.

4. 100,000+ attendance at a CO rally -- a state McCain must win. His goose is cooked

6. Chuck was out with the map early this morning - seemed fine with saying...
...there are plenty of ways for Obama to win, even without PA, OH and FL.

8. Yup. He didn't seem "down" as some here are saying. He pointed out how they're
moving CO and VA into the "leans Obama" category and how Obama can even win WITHOUT PA (among the others.)
