My MIL and FIL, lifelong republicans are voting for....
Obama!

My FIL is a quiet 72 year old man who has hated Bush and his cronies for years, is voting for Obama, but I suspect he voted for Kerry last time around. He says that these people are not conservatives and he is sick of them ruining things for his grandchildren. He also told DH that voting for Obama this time is a "no brainer". I am so proud of him!

My MIL is 70 and is still not totally on board with Obama. She thinks he doesn't have experience and is "scared" of him. But, she promised her son, MY DH (who is her baby), that she would vote for him for the sake of her grandchildren. She doesn't like McCain and was going to sit the election out.

MIL has NEVER voted for anyone but a Republican and has never failed to vote in an election.

4. My repuke sister-in-law told me yesterday she is still
undecided but may vote for Obama. She lost her job recently, (though has since found another one), and lives in Vegas amid the ruins of the failed economy. She still won't admit repuke responsibility for the economic mess, but I think she realizes with McSame things are certain not to improve.

When some hardcore lifelong repukes aren't reflexively voting "R" the tide is, indeed, turning.
