What could that $700 Billion have done for America? (Pic)
Sorry to bring this subject back up when we obviously have more important work to do at the moment, but I thought this picture was a good reality check of what we just spent.

Picture was originally from the ASW website.

1. You forget that the Repubs have little interest in
rebuilding schools, bridges, providing healthcare, etc.

oh wait - Dems also voted for this, didn't they.

2. Yeah, and it bugs me...
Maybe the Democratic leaders know something that I don't, but I'm still highly questionable about it.

5. Sorry, but this is really simplistic and wrong

We don't have $700B. It is being created.

It's silly to talk about it like it exists and could be spent on one thing or another.

The $700B is being spent to prop up the system by which the $700B is created in the first place, and that system is the same system that will have to create the money for the good works detailed in the chart.

America's finances have NOTHING to do with a family or small business allocating existing resources.

Putting any priority ahead of the global financial system is like quitting your job to save money on gas. Illusory short-term gain, but no more money next week.
