Nothing But Frowns and Devastation on Morning Joe
Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 07:13 AM by berni_mccoy
Saying McCain's paths to 270 just don't add up. Chuckie T is just a sad little puppy today. Joe and Mika are all quiet.

Best part: Chuck Todd showed how even if McCain wins OH, PA and FL, Obama now has a clear and realistic path to 270.

Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 07:29 AM by Kahuna
to the audio of the kkkrap Drudge and the RNC is pushing today. She's desperate to find something...ANYTHING against Obama.

My email to her...

Subject: Careful Mika, quoting a cut n paste by RNC and Drudge. Have you learned nothing?

Remember in 2004 how the RNC and Drudge cut and pasted General Clark's house testimony with BLARING HEADLINES, to make it seem that General Clark's testimony supported the Iraq War Resolution? The bloggers quickly pointed out the full transcript that proved Drudge and the RNC cut and pasted THEIR transcript. Once we proved they cut n paste General Clark's testimony they quickly purged all evidence of their mischief from their sites.

This NPR thing is the same thing. So, you're "listening" to the interview, huh? Well the full panel is 50 minutes and may be found here: http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/audio_library/ram/od/od-010118.ram. And once again, they have taken Obama's comments out of context the same way they did with Obama and Joe the Plumber. Why don't you actually view the entire encounter before you MISREPRESENT the FACTS. Keith Olbermann played the entire encounter on his show last week. You could easily do the same but you prefer to LIE for the GOP.

You are a very lazy "news person." You just regurgitate nonsense from the RNC and Drudge (proven liars.)

and included this in reference to the Biden being 'testy' comment which she later changed to feisty:

"Well it turns out that her husband, Wade West, is a political and media consultant for Republican politicians. The GOP talking points Barbara West used in her interview may have come directly from the McCain Palin communications team via her husband Wade."

37. I'll take that question, IUDM
All I want to hear from news people is the truth. Mr Todd used to have positive things written about him because there was a time when he just reported facts. That's all that most of us want. Then Todd took a serious turn for the dark side--misrepresenting the facts, and in some cases out-in-out lying.

One of the things that I wanted to hear from Chuck Todd was an apology to his viewers and readers for one of his repeated lies. I wrote several letters to him pointing out that he had repeatedly claimed that neither Obama nor McCain were talking about jobs when in fact Obama has been talking about jobs in every stump speech that he has made going all the way back to the primaries.

I never heard him correct the record nor apologize. A prodigal son who is deserving of praise and respect would admit his failings. Mr Todd has simply read the tea leafs and decided that it is in his career's best interest to return to a more truthful representation of the facts. Well good for him.

9. I don't get it... why
I know this is going to sound really really stupid so forgive me... by why do they care if McCain loses? Do they all make so much money that they will pay that much more in taxes under Obama? I mean they will still have jobs after Obama wins.

It just confuses me when educated people support McCain. i can forgive the uneducated conservatives who don't know any better but these people aren't dumb. They know the difference between spin and fact. How can they really want that old man and his idiot sidekick to win?

I struggle with this everytime I see a Mccain/Palin sign on someone's lawn... why? why? why? I just don't get it.

36. I asked myself something similar this morning and decided...
that maybe intelligent people who support the current crop of Republican bastards know that they'll have an easier time controlling a lot of the populace that also supports them.

In fact, I decided that maybe the more intelligent among them don't really think the Republicans are that much better...just that there are groups of people who will clearly vote against their own self-interests every time.

Almost seems like there are more RW masochists, you know?

I was watching a bit of CNN this morning and the crawler thing on the bottom gave some statistics on a few of the (red) states where McCain still has a lead. Many of the people in these states would actually benefit more from Obama's tax plan (being lower income and all) but they choose to keep believing McCain's bullshit lines about Obama "raising your taxes" without going on to finish the statement "If you make over $250,000 per year".

How many people in, say, Missouri...or Alabama...make more than $250,000 per year....

No..these people are more concerned with keeping gays from marrying or trying to send women back to the coathanger days...and so they thought they'd have a friend in George W Bush but even HE didn't/couldn't give them what they wanted.

Even so, they go right back to the same poisoned well time and time again.

Not too bright, IMO.

which makes them prime targets, I suppose, of unscrupulous people (the current rotten crop of "Republicans") who merely USE these unfortunates to gain power.

And that's probably what it's all about anyway in the end. Use whatever means they can to get power...

38. It doesn't make any sense to me either. I figure that the public figures get kick-backs.
I think that most Republican commentators get paid to push right-wing talking points and ignore real news that makes Republicans look bad. The corporations that own the networks benefit from the Republican policies of deregulation. Every time the Republicans smack down environmental or labor regulations the corporations make that much more in profit, which means they get that many more hundreds of millions in salaries. It's a very corrupt situation.

All the money sloshing around funds the flyers and email campaigns that keep not-so-bright people confused and frightened enough to vote against their own interests.

20. I totally agree.
I can justify that solely on the fact that McCain choose as his running mate a person who supports a party that wants her state to secede from the Union. Now that is bizarre. Just why the hell this has not been a major factor in this election is beyond me. The only piece of any substance that I have seen has been that which was aired on CNN.
