A little update from Intrade.
With all the concern around here today, and with McCain and Palin guaranteeing victory, I thought I should drop in on the bettors over at Intrade.

Keep in mind that no candidate has ever lost in any race for anything if that candidate's contract has ever traded over 70.

Well, with all the concern out and about today, Obama is a mere + 1.2 to 87.8.

Wow . . . I'm sweating it out.

5. I think they've been pretty accurate in the past.
Wouldn't you say, abum? Maybe I'm wrong.

2. McCain is still in double digits at 12.5
I'm ultra-concerned.

4. Maybe McCain could announce his top three cabinet picks tomorrow
...What do you think?

<snip>
Governor Mitt Romney as Secretary of the Treasury - Romney took Bain Capital from $37 million to more than $4 billion. He was an accomplished governor of a large state who had a lot of support when he ran for President. He is the man who took on a scandal-ridden Olympic Games mess and turned it completely around. How much more could he do with our economy if McCain were to promise to give him full rein to build a team of professionals who will not just solve our current financial problems but also develop plans for preventing future ones, including the looming crisis in Social Security and Medicare.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani as Attorney General - This would be a masterstroke. Guiliani is still very popular. As you may remember he first made a name for himself as a US Attorney when he vigorously prosecuted and sent to jail plenty of mobsters and Wall Street financiers. McCain will tell the country that his instruction to Giuliani aggressively prosecute and send to jail anyone guilty of any crime that contributed to the collapse of the credit markets that has caused such harm to our country. McCain will make it clear that current members of Congress will not be safe from Rudy and that Rudy might be calling on some of them to testify under oath - and maybe sending some of them to jail.

Sen. Joe Lieberman as Secretary of State - This would be the most controversial but Lieberman has supported McCain and he’s a pretty good choice for the position. McCain could use the promised appointment of another example of how he’s able to reach across the aisle and work with people he doesn’t always agree with.

Of course McCain would never think like this as he has already shown how dumb his pick of a VP was. But if McCain did this he would have the mass media headlines clear through to election day.

7. Look, let's be honest. There's no way McCain will win.
It would take a miracle of monumental proportions and become the biggest upset in American history if he did. Trust me, it's not happening. These are interesting times, but they're not THAT interesting. I'm not trying to spread complacency, this is just the way I see it.

We've already been fooled by the tone in the media that Obama was in a horse race once this election cycle with Hillary. When really, he won the primary season in early March. Hillary didn't have a realistic chance since then. The media is up to it's old tricks again. When poll after poll has Obama in significant leads nationally and in the vast majority of key states, my friends, IT'S OVER! McCain's only slimmer of hope is that 0.00001% chance that Obama fucks up ROYALLY somehow this week. But that's it.

8. But Newsweek, Arrowhead.
That beacon of journalism says worry. Thank you, Arrowhead. Looks like the optimists have shown up tonight. Finally. No way do we lose this. Too many people showing up at the party!
