Why can't we say the word "liar"!!
Goddammit, Bush has lied lied lied and lied some more.

He was a drug abuser, a boozer, and is still a loser. He is a fucking great country song. Call it the way it is. Kerry needs to really take the gloves off and call the man a liar. He LIED about the war--not mislead. He LIED about WMD's not faulty intelligence.
He LIED about cleaning up the environment. etc.

LIAR the word is LIAR.

"I don't vote for liars."

3. I agree.
Bush did not mislead. Cheney did not mislead. Rumsfeld did not mislead. They all lied, and Kerry needs to come out and say it.

8. Look up "lie" in the dictionary, and you'll find bushco's MO:
Edited on Mon Sep-06-04 08:15 PM by stopbush
Main Entry: 4lie
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English lige, lie, from Old English lyge; akin to Old High German lugI, Old English lEogan to lie
1 a : an assertion of something known or believed by the speaker to be untrue with intent to deceive b : an untrue or inaccurate statement that may or may not be believed true by the speaker
2 : something that misleads or deceives
3 : a charge of lying

(Merriam-Webster)

Maybe Kerry could say this: "who sez * is a liar? The dictionary!"

11. These liars keep saying they really believed whatever (WMD,
Sadam did 9-11 etc). Then these fixed congressional investigations come out and say they were mislead. So it's hard to put teeth into the "liar" word when you working with so much slime. Call them liars and they attack like crazy. So the thing to do is keep up with the slogans: "Bush lied and thousand died". Need more of them everywhere

13. It's not how they will spin it, they will just deny it.
The blind faithful supporters will swallow it, because, in their minds, when such reckless charges are made, they assume that they are just over-the-top campaign rhetoric.

If you say to the blind faithful that Bush "lied," they will assume YOU are lying.

If you tell them that Bush "misled" them...NOW, there's a chance that they may wonder for even just a second..."How did I get misled?"

Even Bush faithful are still scratching their heads trying to figure out what has gone wrong in Iraq.

Given this opening, they are more likely to listen to what you have to say, just out of sheer curiosity.

Small difference, but I think the difference is worth it.

14. To be a liar you have to be conscious. Bush isn't.
Make no mistake Bush really believes every word he says. A lie for "The Lord" is not a lie. That is what makes him so scary.

15. It's was so funny in Kerry's speech today:

Kerry: George Bush...

voice in crowd: He's a liar!

Kerry: George Bush...

voice in crowd: He's a liar!

after the fourth time or so Kerry busted out laughing...

That's the perfect solution to the problem--Modular Heckling! Kerry may not want to use the word, but WE sure can! A couple of quick chants of "He's a liar!", or my personal favorite, "AAAAAAWOLLLLLLLL!" Then Kerry can continue with his speech!

17. Dean would have called Bush a liar.
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 01:33 AM by elsiesummers
I was not much of a Dean fan - (he pandered too much for my liking) -
but sometimes I really miss the hell outta that guy.

This is where the Democrats go wrong. They have truth on their side but don't use it to their advantage.

18. I think Dean DID say he lied, didn't he?
I was never for Dean either, but I think Dean did use that word. Now it seems Kerry is adopting Dean's positions and in some ways, his demeanor as well. Good. Its about time.

If he could just go back and change that IWR vote...he could seal the deal in a flash.

19. The IWR vote is not a problem - it's the explanation.
All he ever has to say- about IWR or the 87bill is "I did what I thought was right at the time." It would please everyone. The explanations are too windy and also unnecessary.

"well do you still think it was right?"

That's a tough question. I think he has already answered it, and this whole board went ballistic when he did.

20. Yes - Kerry needs to play rough to win - now he seems to get it!
I hope he continues to hit hard - it is the "Dean demeanor" that he must assume - also he must take more from Edwards - who know how to reach people.

I hope Kerry keeps improving - he is good at learning on the fly.

21. Just a bit of a contrary position --
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 02:54 AM by DeepModem Mom
These Bushistas are liars of the worst kind, all of them. But I think some people, maybe some "undecideds," see red when someone calls anyone else a liar. I know it's not a popular position, but I'd rather see our candidate just say that they aren't telling the truth, they don't tell the truth, or, as I heard often growing up in the South, about some person or other, accompanied by shaking head: "The truth's not in 'im!"

23. Good Point DMM...
They have called and inferred that Kerry and Dems in general are liars already but if we do it to a sitting president, the "dimwits" out there will freak out.

I would love to start a war of words calling it like it is by saying Liar liar liar myself but using something similar might suffice instead.

My little digital thesaurus has for liar:

*storyteller
*ananias
*fabricator
*falsifier
*fibber
*perjurer
*prevaricator
Deceive, comes to mind...deceiver

I like your southern slogan though...it says it all... :D

24. We can say it but our candidate cannot......
Even the Repubs don't call Kerry a "liar' - they call him a "flip-flopper", which is a synonym. But Bush is hte biggest "liar" to ever sit in the White House Oval Office.
