why Bush will fight to deny Americans affordable health care
Everyone no matter their income deserves access to affordable health care.

George Bush's richest backers are the health insurance and drug corporations. When George Bush visited Australia in 2003 the only matter he discussed with John Howard was the dismantling of Australia's generous subsidised drug scheme were patients pay no more than $20 for necessary drugs. For US drug providers to have their products included in the scheme they must negotiate with the government to sell in bulk at a discount. They hate this scheme, and that is why Bush went to Australia at their behest.

His greatest fan John Howard in Australia has realised that since that country has had a universal health scheme were everyone can access services that despite his hate of it, he will be thrashed at the polls if he opposes the system, hence is promising to outspend the Opposition on Medicare.

Any party in Australia that has opposed Medicare has lost dramatically at elections..because once in, the public will never want to lose socialised medecine.

And that is why Bush and the Republicans will fight tooth and nail to ensure Americans never get a taste of a health scheme that works for everyone.

Howard Medicare's 'best friend'
September 7, 2004

PATIENTS in some parts of Australia would never have access to bulk-billing doctors, John Howard said today.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister promised to make it more affordable for all Australians to visit the doctor by lifting rebates for GP visits by $4.50.

Labor's Medicare policy would also increase the rebate, but only for bulk-billed GP visits. In addition, it would provide cash incentives for GPs who met bulk-billing targets.

Mr Howard said Labor's policy did nothing to help people who did not have doctors who bulk-billed.

1. As someone who recently lived in Australia
Howard is out anyway. And his successor-to-be, Mark Latham will not be a Bush lapdog
