...40 or 50 years ago, innocent people would by LYNCHED due to an incident like this. Neighborhoods would be burned, at the very least. And the police would never tell a tabloid that they were "skeptical" because they wouldn't even investigate. Never mind that she clearly didn't get "carved" by any "knife." Never mind that there are plenty of facts in this story that don't quite check out. As a young white woman, she'd be a victim and THOSE people would be guilty.

It's not funny--and it's sad to think that in an age when a Black man is poised to take the White House, a 20-year-old from Texas would think a ruse like this would work.
