"John McCain's top robocaller moonlights as Sarah Palin's personal shopper,

Josh Green of The Atlantic reported yesterday.

That jack of all trades, Jeff Larson, is also Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman's political confidante and generous landlord. The two are so close that Coleman picked Larson to run the Republican Convention in St. Paul.

Larson is also the treasurer of Coleman's PAC; his political consulting firm, FLS Connect, was paid nearly $200,000 by Coleman's campaign from July 1 to September 30, according to the latest FEC filing.

Coleman recently denounced the McCain campaign's controversial robocalls (after Republicans launched a series of vicious attacks on his Democratic opponent, Al Franken, that backfired), even though Larson's firm engineered some of those very calls.

When asked about the calls on Sunday, Coleman responded: "I haven't talked to Jeff but clearly we have been very very clear that that's not...we don't need that in Minnesota today."

Additionally, Coleman is already on the hot seat for reportedly accepting free suits from Neiman Marcus, the same place Palin got her new spiffy wardrobe.

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which has made great use of web video during the campaign, just released a whimsical new ad "highlighting the many gifts and lavish trips that Norm Coleman has accepted from donors and political confidants." The latest polls show Coleman narrowly trailing Franken. "
