dont let them get traction on this by accepting their premise. this young republican got scratched with a B, was near an atm and only got robbed of 60 bucks (thats a bit low for someone whod stick around to make political statements), and the assault happened out of camera range... unless the guys on caught and admits to it being politically motivated, its PURE SPECULATION and we should all dismiss it as such when discussing it.

1. Agreed. too many other things to discuss, too much work to do to
get sidetracked on speculation.

2. I've hid 10 threads on this since it's a non-story
As if a candidate is responsible for the behavior of all 50 million of his supporters - assuming it was even true - which is dubious.

7. Haven't you been paying attention?

Candidates ARE responsible for the behavior of all their supporters. Every day a candidate is called on to denounce something that a supporter or supporters did.

That said, I agree with you. :)

3. I agree lets stop talking about it. If three days of a news cycle is spent on this
it won't be helpful no matter what.

4. Is it true that McCain and Obama have released statements about it?

5. According to this article they did:
In an official statement the McCain campaign says: "We're shaken up by this. It's sick and disgusting."

Governor Sarah Palin reportedly spoke with the victim by phone.

Meanwhile, late this afternooon, the Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, saying: "This is a horrendous act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

9. Even if it is 100% true... I don't "own" the story
It has nothing to do with Obama. Unless of course WE blow it up.
I know the other side will, so I say we drop it.
