This is the sort of thing that lead to riots and lynchings a few short decades ago. I wouldn't expect widespread violence these days. But the McCain campaign is taking it to the next level.

-Woman attacked by wingnut while canvassing for Obama in WI.

-Effigy of Obama hung from a tree on an Oregon campus.

This is going to get worse, since the unhinged behaviour has already begun.
