Carville on Crossfire is saying
that * has the double-digit lead. Is this because he wants to show it dissipating overnight or because he's still working for CNN as of 4:30 PM today?

1. I don't know about these polls.
But if there's one political person I trust, It's James Carville. I'll follow his lead every time!

2. Your second point
He wants to build Bush up so when the polls soon show a tie he can say Bush is in a major tailspin. He knows internal polls on both sides show the race a lot closer.

3. I think people want to keep Kerry worried for a little while

so that the campaign shake-up goes deep. Like on Bill Maher they seemed to be using it to add validity to accusations that Kerry needs to wake up and start attacking. Whether or not the bounce was real, Kerry should be ahead of Bush in any poll, skewed or not. And he better be, because the official election results will be at least as skewed as the worst of polls.

4. yepper
He is going to use this farce of a double digit lead to nail these crooks when the polls balance out. It will part of Kerry's new momentum.

Shrub will only be going down in polls from this point on! Refreshing isn't it?

5. It also energizes the Democrats, people get lazy when they get
ahead. Now it's just a matter of people want to see what Kerry's made of, is he going to fight, or is he going to give Bush more free passes of unanswered questions?

...also will get some votes from the last second fence sitters who will vote for who they perceive is going to be the winner. (The ones with no conscience, but love to say "they were right".)

On edit: spelling.
