Wingnuts In Hawaii.....
Anti-Semite Andy Martin has been spending the last few days in Hawaii doing press conferences, claiming the real reason Sen. Obama came back was to confront him, and generally acting like a jerk.

He tried to file suit in Hawaii to demand a copy of Sen. Obama's birth certificate. The Hawaiian Supreme Court basically said "no you can't have a writ of mandamus, expedited hearings, or telephonic hearings. Not yours."

http://www.state.hi.us/jud/opinions/sct/2008/29414ord.pdf

So he released his latest bombshell. The claim that Sen. Obama's father was NOT Barack Obama Sr., but Frank Marshall Davis, Jr.!

On his site "contrariancommentary.com" he makes this inane claim:

"“Mendacious adults ‘switched’ Obama at birth. That is why he has refused to allow access to the original or ‘vault’ birth certificate,” Martin told a Honolulu news conference. “We believe the original certificate did not list a father. Barack Obama became the father as a result of an agreement between Ann Dunham, Frank Marshall Davis and Barack Obama, Sr.

“Davis was already married to a White Woman. He did not need a nonmarital child by a second one. Ann probably refused to have what was then called a ‘back alley’ abortion. Davis may have felt that ‘Obama’ would face less stigma with an ‘African’ background than a Negro one. The civil rights revolution, of course, turned that gambit upside down. In discovering and understanding what happened we cannot forget we are dealing with events in 1961, not 2008.

“The irony in all of this is that Obama once stated he did not want his daughters to be ‘victimized’ with a child. And he is alive because his mother took the contrary view.

“Barack Obama has known this since adulthood, and the shock of this discovery still reverberates in his psyche.

“Ironically, what I have to say today dilutes the ‘Muslim’ theory that has propagated. Davis was not a Muslim. If Obama had told the truth at some point in his life, instead of living endlessly with the lies that were imposed on him by the adults in his life, we would have avoided a great deal of confusion. I, for one, have deep compassion for Mr. Obama. He is not the first person in history to be caught up in this kind of family fraud.

“The disclosure by the two women in his life that he was not the ‘son’ of his ‘father’ also explains why he manifests such extreme ambivalence to both his mother and grandmother. He is angry because he was cheated of his real father.

“Obama was robbed of his birthright of being the son of civil rights royalty, and of a father with whom he was completely simpatico. He could have grown up the son of Frank Marshall Davis, civil rights pioneer and activist, cutting-edge journalist, poet and man of letters. Mr. Davis was an extraordinary man in a dark period of this nation’s history, the pre-dawn of the civil rights era.

“Obama has probably suspended his campaign and is flying to Honolulu because he is deathly afraid his grandmother may make a ‘dying declaration’ and blow the whistle on his family fraud. Dying people often blurt out the truth. The true facts of Obama’s parentage also reflect why there has been so much tension and alienation, as well as genuine love, in Obama’s relationship with his grandmother."

Wow, insanity much?

The ironic thing is that for Obama-haters, Martin just undercut Philip Berg's lawsuit with this claim. Obama would have derived US citizenship from both parents, one of which would have been old enough, (according to the laws at that time), to pass it on even if he *was* born in Kenya.

In addition, it negates the Indonesian claim, because even if Stanley Ann Durham renounced her US citizenship, (and by extension, Sen. Obama's), Davis never did. So he would have had still one parent with US citizenship and no lapses.

Mind you, I have no doubt that the Cult of the COLB will come up with some horribly tortured pretzel logic to claim that Davis was Sen. Obama's father AND yet he doesn't have US citizenship, etc., etc.....

But it could split the wingnuts into two factions. Something to look at with glee *grin*

11. Yup. This guy always has a story but never a shred of evidence.
He hasn't produced a single scrap of paper that would back up any of his claims.

2. Doesn't this blow all their other (AHEM) "theories" out the window?
So he's NOT a muslim?

NOT born outside the country?

NOT really named Barry Sortero or whatever?

NOT born when Hawaii wasn't a state?

I'm impressed--the wingnuts have out-crazied themselves once again.

10. The righties I talk to online are all over this
They were literally orgasmic when they heard Obama was going to see his grandmother in Hawaii. They are all convinced that between this guy and that Berg guy's lawsuit, Obama is days from being thrown out as a candidate.

The wingnuts over at "TexasDarlin" and Berg's blog are either claiming he's over there getting ready to flee the country, or "silence" his grandmother.

Not that I'm advocating for that at all because that is just the craziest thing I've read recently from a wing-nut.

The only good thing is that the more the Republican base buys into this garbage, the less most folks will want to be associated with them.

so comfortably. It doesn't even phase these people in the slightest that they negate their own arguments by throwing 10,000 accusations around.

Even if Obama was fathered by someone other than who he claims - does that matter? Does that change who Barack Obama is?

25. Let's suppose it's true
Just for laughs -

We now havea child of two American citizens, born on U.S. soil (i.e., a natural born citizen), who's over 35 years old and has lived in the U.S. for more than 14 years. Doesn't change anything - Obama's still eligible to be president. The Constitution has not requirement that the president be born in wedlock - goodness knows we're had enough figurative bastards in the office already. And it's probably not the first time a candidate's been so accused.

29. I'm sure the Gov, linda lingle, will add her own vicious snark
to Obama's returning to Hawai'i..like "he hasn't called me".

"Hi. Gov. Lingle warns a crowd of tens that Obama will endanger America."

You may have heard that our Governor, Linda Lingle, is working her flat butt off for McCain.
She introduces Sarah Palin, she's on the road hawking the fear message, she's even gone so far
as to say that Sen. Obama, born and raised here, isn't really local. (Unlike herself, who moved here as an adult. But whatever.)

The Las Vegas Sun published a telling photo of her speaking to a throng of - several - people about how dangerous Obama would be for America. The writer mentioned that they took chairs away before she began speaking, presumably so it didn't look so poorly attended. FAIL.

What you may not know is that Linda Lingle was expected to run for US Senator when either of our Dans retires. But her recent hatefests make a win look less and less likely in this state, that went more than 72% Obama in our caucus.

"Thank God all the work here at home is done and we aren't in a budget crisis or anything. Oh wait...she also announced from the road that she's ending our program to insure poor children."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4263204

"Lingle dismisses Obama's local ties"

<snip> <snip>

"Hawaii's GOP governor, who was in Colorado yesterday campaigning for Sen. John McCain, the Republican candidate for president, was asked about Obama's recent comments in Colorado: "I'm somebody from the West. Hawaii is about as far west as you can get."

Lingle, according to the newspaper Fort Collins Now, called Obama's comment "a stretch."

"Hawaii is a different part of America," Lingle said.

Obama never voted in Hawaii, never owned a business, but spent some time in school in the state, Lingle told the newspaper.

Hawaii Democrats called Lingle's comments "alarming, harsh and personal."

"So Gov. Lingle thinks Barack Obama is being disingenuous in claiming Hawaii as one of his home states. Sorry, governor, the claim happens to be true," said U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono."
