Saw Biden's Plane Land in Winston-Salem this morning...
Going to be speaking at WFU... gotta work so I can't make it. But I am glad to see them paying attention here. When I voted 2 days ago, there were 50 people at the polling place and all had democratic voting guides. Repubs didn't have anyone outside handing them out.

1. Cool! I voted 2 days ago in Greensboro myself.
There was a Democratic candidate running for the school board and I let him know that I was voting for him. I voted for Obama/Biden and also a democratic straight ticket.

About the straight ticket not counting for the presidential race, at the polling station that I went to, they point that out to you before you vote and they actually get you to the start screen (the first choice is to vote your choice of president). So every voter should be aware of the straight ticket does not count towards your choice of President here in NC. I pray so.

3. I voted in G'boro on Monday.
And the straight-vote-doesn't-include-President thing has been the case for a long time, back to 1992, or maybe even earlier. So for most long-time NCers, it was already old news.

Glad to see the poll workers making sure everyone understands, though; lot of folks in NC now are relative newcomers from other parts of the country. (And other countries, too.)

4. You actually saw the plane?
By Palin's standards, I guess that makes you an air traffic controller now.:woohoo:

5. Not to much air traffic in Winston-Salem...

However, I can see Davie county from my house... we have trade missions you know... between Forsyth and Davie county. Their county commissioner sometimes flies his crop duster over the Yadkin river into Forsyth county. We are always keeping an eye on them.
