McCain: You ‘can’t name a single issue’ I’ve flip-flopped on since 2000.»

During an interview this afternoon with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), a reporter from local Washington, D.C. area CBS affiliate told McCain that some “commentators” and even some “personal friends” have asked, “Where is the John McCain from 2000?” The reporter then asked, “Did that guy go away? Has something changed?” But McCain took issue with the premise of the reporter’s question, claiming that nothing has changed since 2000:

MCCAIN: You’ll have to tell me what’s changed. I love it when they say, “Oh McCain has changed.” And I say, “What have I changed on?” They can’t name a single issue or they’ll name an issue and its false. I’m the same guy. I’m proud of our campaign.

Watch it at link~

In fact, ThinkProgress has identified at least 44 issues that McCain has flip-flopped on, including President Bush’s tax cuts, comprehensive immigration reform and torture.

1. Even if he hadn't is the alternative much better?
"okay so you mean to tell us that you've always been this big of a douchebag but we just failed to notice?"

Because there are so many, many more...

5. Stupid answer - at least politically.
Asking the media to answer such an easy question is never a good idea. Hopefully the MSM was watching.

7. Immigration...
ask the repukes, they'll tell you.

In fact, I think this is why he's going to lose big (not just immigration, but flip-flopping in general). McCain spent much of the last 8 years "crossing the aisle", being all "mavericky", and opposing his own party (the conservatives). Now he's running to the right in the GE, and saying what the conservatives want to hear. Yes, it's not like they're going to vote for Obama, but many are not working for McCain, donating to him, and won't turn out in the numbers necessary. Sure he may be the repuke candidate, but they don't trust the fucker.

8. The Carpetbagger Report has document 76 so far. The link is
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/flipflops

I don't think the Carpetbagger list even includes McCain's stating he would campaign with Bush as the President's schedule allows. C'mon, we all know Dummya has the time to campaign more than he has, even as busy as he's been messing up the country and making the wheels come off the rest of the world.

I know Steve Benen moved to another website, but don't know if he's still working it.

11. I have to agree with him on one thing, though
I don't think he's changed. Contrary to some who lament the "old McCain" or the "McCain of 2000", I think he's always been a piece of shit.

But that's just my opinion.

13. Why are jurnalist always so unprepared?
When he was writing out the question, how hard would it be to say: "Hmm, I better have some facts if McCain says he is the same or if he says he hasn't flipped on anything. Maybe I can use this big machine on my desk to find some answers. OK, let me type G-O-O-G-L-E-.-C-O-M and then McCain flip flop. Just so I can be prepared."

How fricking hard is that? They never do that and McCain know is.

14. Sarah Palin was a "journalist" before becoming a "politician"!
And before that she was a beauty queen.

Any other questions?

21. A good journalist already knows the answers to questions he/she asks
at least in cases like this. It's called preparation. When I was a journalist, if I asked a candidate about his record, I knew it better than he did. And I had no qualms about saying "Joe, you are so full of shit."

17. The only flip-flops McCain admits are old ones: MLK holiday and confederate flag.
And those weren't "flip flops". They were "mistakes".
