Just so you all know, my brother graduated HS about 3 from the bottom...
I mean even the kids in special ed ranked higher.

But he pulled himself up and went to John Carrol and then graduated with honors from OSU.

Passed the CPA and is currently a partner in a successful Accounting Firm in Columbus, Ohio.

But my brother, my friends, didn't have a big shot for a dad nor did he have any connections.

The only problem he has is that he is a republican.

anyway, I bring this up since McCain graduated so far down in his class.

He never had to work, he was destined to be what ever his daddy wanted him to be.

Except Admiral.

Class ranking doesn't always mean you are dumb.

A lot of times, as in the case of McCain, I suppose, it means you are lazy and will always take the easy way out.

But there are a lot of self made men and women out there, like my brother, who actually pulled themselves up through sheer work and determination.

And then there are a lot of McCain's out there, people born of privilege who take the path of least resistance.

Perhaps that is why the old guy is melting down now, it was his turn, by god, it was his turn and this kid who, like my brother, pulled himself up through hard work and determination to be 11 days away from winning the biggest brass ring of all.

McCain must be seething inside, ready to blame everyone but himself.

And the sad part about McCain is if he would have stood up to Bush after SC, he might have exposed that shame that was GWB.

We'll never know and McCain will always have those haunting memories of acquiescence to help him through to the end...

1. It's true that class ranking doesn't always mean you're dumb...
Sometimes really smart people rank down in the standings simply because they're bored.

And they just don't feel like exerting themselves...

But when they find what they're truly passionate about, then they come alive...

I think that's what your brother did...

McCain got into the Naval Academy because of his dad and grand-dad...Not on his own merits. He was a fly-boy and wanted to live on the edge...

I'm sure he's trying to figure out just where he went wrong....

Well, he'll have plenty of time to figure that out, now won't he?

2. Yeah, he'll have plenty of time to think during those sleepless nights he'll be having.
He can think about what it feels like to have no soul after having sold it. What it feels like to have attempted to smear an honorable colleague so ruthlessly due to his ambition. What it feels like to have thrown out any integrity he may have once had just because he wanted power.

3. He's like * in many ways. But McC never had quite the right connections
to guarantee him the White House. I'm sure he cannot believe it's not being handed to him on a silver platter. Now he just looks like a goofy puppet on a string -- no longer his own boss or his own man. I am sure he is mad as hell. I'd hate to be a fly on his wall.

4. I felt bad about getting C's in law school and graduated near the bottom until
I found out how a number of my classmates had an elaborate method of cheating during exams. They had better grades but I had the integrity of earning my education honestly.

5. It's funny, when I was in school after I sobered up, I did much better...
Of course, but the attitude of the kids I was in school with was toxi. They were so grade orientated that they couldn't really enjoy the idea of learning...

It was sad.
