Ed Rendell has to be a Republican...
Diebold voting machines and no early voting. Is that something a Democrat would do?

1. I dont think the Gov can decide
by himself if there is early voting or not. I'm sure the PA legislature will install early voting for 2012.

How is your audit law? Thanks. I'm going to PA on election protection, and knowing would be helpful.

5. what's with the constant attacks on Rendell?
Considering McPalin is supposedly banking on pulling a win out of PA, then I think it's in our best interest to stop attacking Democrats there.

7. 'Taint just Diebold. There are 5 voting machine companies in PA & Fast Eddie looooves his Danahers.

Danaher 1242 = ancient, paperless, pushbutton Direct Record Electronic machine used in Philadelphia. Eddie and the Philly gang just love 'em. Primary reason why we have such an uphill battle to get voter-verified paper ballots in Pennsylvania.

8. Naw, Ed is a good Dem. I don't know where you're from, but you
need to understand that PA. is a very old State, and has the second oldest population of all 50 States, second only to Florida which is #1. People there don't adapt to changes very well. They are fairly lienient on granting absentee ballots. I got them when I lived there.

11. Concern Noted
Rendell has been campaigning for Obama and has been a great surrogate.

Posters that hide their profiles here make me wonder if they're Democrats.

16. Nonetheless, His Resistance to Paper Trails Has Put the Whole Election At Risk
Now Obama and Biden must spend precious time shoring up what should be a safe blue state even though we have a double-digit lead there.

I've never heard of Rendell's opposition to paper trails myself. Maybe you know something I don't.

13. Can we not talk about things we don't know
Each county in PA buys their voting machine on their own. There are only a few counties with Diebold. The GOP until recently controlled the State House and Senate and now has a narrow lead there for the past 2 years.

I don't like Fast Eddie but he isn't the King of PA we have a state constitution and he has to act in line with it.

15. He was saddled with a Republican legislature from the start
what you're saying is equivalent to blaming Pelosi for starting the Iraq War.

i'm not really into Rendell, but he is a good Democrat and overall a good guy, if not a good guy with good heart who has a frustrating mouth at times.

19. What you do not understand is
no matter how the vote turns out Rendell will make sure Obama wins PA, he could not do that without Diebold voting machines

24. Look, PA is basically a Republican state outside of Philly and Pittsburgh.
And they have a lot of representation in the state legislature. Rendell cannot just ram through anything he wants. He's doing the best he can.
