Something happened today
that has me puzzled.First of all I have been polled more this year then in my whole life.
Three times in the last two days! Several times in the last couple of months.
All pretty much the same questions, except for today.

In the middle of the poll, I was asked about Oprah W. Asked if I found her honest, likable, etc.
Pretty much the same questions asked about Obama and Mc Snarky.

At no time was I ever asked any question about Oprah in any of the other polls.

I'm not a troll. Just old and to timid to post much. Just not as smart as
most here.

This was the longest poll yet. Lots of questions about Palin.
Thank you if you can explain the Oprah thing.

1. Maybe they wanted to know how much influence Oprah had on voters?
I don't know though.

2. Sure wish I had an answer for you.
It is puzzling. Maybe Oprah is running her own poll?

4. You may be right
It threw me for a loop. I even asked the women to repeat herself.
I watch very little Tv so thought those who do watch Oprah might have
heard this mentioned. I have never been asked so many questions about
Palin before.

3. Nothing really to worry about. But do you know who it was doing the polling?
Just curious...

But yeah. Unless someone going to come out next week claiming Oprah is Obama's Mother, I fail to see the relevance.

7. No I don't know
who was doing the polling. If it was mentioned I did not catch it. Person was very nice
and polite. She did say would I mind answering a few political questions etc. Also if any
questions were to personal I only had to say no comment. The questions that were personal.
my age, race, married or single.retired or working. One that was interesting, was anyone else in
my household a different race then myself.

I did get the impression that the caller was pleased my husband and I were Obama people.

6. Maybe it's a race feeler question?
Or...Probing the waters for Oprah as a cabinet official? ;)

11. I dId think some of it was race feeler
but also thought it had a lot to do with Palin and how I felt about her and her impact on the voter.
Kind of like did I think she was a nit wit. Of course that was not put this way. This is just me being
honest as to how she strikes me. I did tell the women Palin was a nit wit but that was not one of the
questions.

8. There are all kinds of intelligence
The older I get the more I appreciate discretion, itself, as one of its most important forms, and it sounds like you've got it!

So glad you're here with us, sandsavage... :hi:

10. Perhaps they wanted to trot out the Obama-Hollywood link again...
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 06:44 PM by Dissent Is Patriotic
and invoke sympathy by saying Obama got big bad Oprah to use her influence over her minions.

On edit: By the way...I've been here myself for four years...there's no shame in lurking...thanks for posting today...I truly am amazed (and thankful sometimes) for those that are able to get to such high post counts so quickly.

13. Thank you all
for your answers and the sweet welcomes.
I won't take up anymore time or space.
If anyone does get the same poll I did,
would you please let me know about it?
These things tend to bug me a mite.

12. Maybe Obama's people
are thinking of bringing Oprah on to the campaign trail and they want to gauge public reaction.
