2. I swear I do not understand
the MSM; cannot ask any follow up questions to McPalin? Are they not allowed to? They just allow them to blab away and then move on to the next stupid topic. I really expected better from Brian Williams. He learned well from Brokaw.

or should I say, the lies in their statements. Brian just let them all go by....

15. I knew Williams would do this too....
I just knew it!

He is such a weasel. And what's with the "with all due respect" comment he made to Barbie in prefacing his question to her about Powell saying she wasn't ready to be president. Why "With all due respect"?? Why not just say Colin Powell said you weren't ready to be president...what's your reaction? Bullshit on "With all due respect"!!

I'll take Gibson and Couric's interview hands down. Even on their first day of their serialized interview with Barbie there was some demand for accountability from the questioner.

9. The most obvious question to ask and Williams didn't even bring it up...
"Both of you talk about Senator Obama being young and untested. What about you, Governor Palin? What if you had to step in as President if anything happened to Senator McCain and you had an international crisis to deal with? Are you too young and untested to handle the crisis?"

11.  There is no realness to them. Two of the phoniest people ever they are so
condescending both of them talk down to voters as if they are two years old.

This shows how broke the McCain campaign is as well. The only way they can get TV time.

24. I haven't seen it either
sometimes just letting them talk themselves into a hole is ok. With the 24 hr news cycle to tear the interview apart later. I find when they're both on together it works to a huge disadvantage for Palin.

20. he still needs to do his damn job
whether its over or not. Simple follow up questions are an integral part of any interview. Even hiring for McDonalds people ask follow ups. They are lying to his face and he sits there with his head bowed. Katie Couric was 10x better.

There was a time the press used to be adversarial, now its too deferential...especially to Republicans.

19. After listening to Brian sort of bash them before I was expecting
a better interview. I guess we have to wait and see what the rest of the week holds. Today was a cake walk stump speech.

Also, that bulge on McCain's cheek is huge!!!

He is just a mouthpiece. Consider the source. It's all part of their little game.

But I will tell this. When McCain and Palin appear together they look like neither could be President.

28. The two of them sitting together for an interview...
...reminds me of a warring couple going for counselling and trying to act civil.

Cold, distant, and forced civility.

And very, very obvious.

They never seemed to look at each other at the same time. McCain would look briefly at her only when he could sense out of the corner of his eye that she wasn't looking at him, and vice versa.

30. Wow, sad day for Brian Williams. He was no better than Gwen Ifill, there ...
... asking Palin about pre-conditions, but letting her off-the-hook without ever defining any example pre-conditions. Gibson and Couric both managed to ask followup questions when Palin was obviously dodging the question, without answering at all; and Ifill, at least, could rationalize that she was constrained by the debate rules.

Williams seemed extremely unprepared, unable to ask relevant followup questions and rifling through his notes trying to find the next question. Was there such a logical chasm on the "tested in crisis" topic that Williams didn't think of asking Palin how she'd been tested in crisis, and whether she was ready to assume the Presidency this coming January 20th, 2009? (which is a possibility)

It looks like the Republicans' snubbing of Williams had its desired effect, cowing Williams into a compliant interviewer.

32. And on day 2.....
...it's the same shit....no follow ups...just stump speech bullshit from both of them.

Williams I think just isn't smart enough on his feet to stop a filibustering answer when he gets it.

Go blow dry your hair Brian.
