Anyone know any Republicans out there that our voting for Obama?

I have a coworker that I have been working with for at least fifteen years or so, and he has always been a hard-core Republican. In 2004 it actually caused a few problems for us at work. His number one issue for voting for Bush in 2000 was “Gore will take my guns away”. His number one issue for voting for Bush in 2004 was, “Kerry will take my guns away, and he voted 27 times to ban guns!” I tried and tried to show him that this was not true and that they were not going to take his guns away, but failed every time. This year I didn’t even bother trying to convert him.

Today he approached me and just blurted out “Well you will be happy to know that I will be voting for your guy Obama this year.” At first I thought he was kidding, but after a few minutes I realized he was dead serious, and I nearly feel off my chair!.

He gives the following reasons:

1) He has realized that Obama is not, and cannot take his guns away, and neither will John McCain.

2) He said that in his opinion Palin would not make a good vice president yet alone a president, and that scared the shit out of him.

3) He felt that McCain was running a very negative campaign and that he could not seem to make up his mind about what to do with the economy.

He also said that he did not trust what Obama said or McCain said, and feels that they should be somehow held accountable once they are elected into office.

I never ever thought I would see the day when this guy would vote for Dem.

Has anyone else seen I DIEHARD REPUG change?
