1. And with your vote, you are helping dispel those 400 years!
Into the dustbin of history!

Good for you...

There are many of us who have done, or are about to do this...

And doesn't it feel good!

5. Yeah. I can't wait to vote.
I am taking my two little girls (3 and 4) with me on the day of the election. They asked to come after I explained I am going to vote for Barack as president of all the United States. They know we live in a state too. What gets me is that they see Barack on t.v. all the time and never ever ask me about the color of his skin nor of Michelle's or Malia or Sasha when they have seen them. We really need to see things through a child's viewpoint! On a funnier note, Morgan, my 4 year old, asked me what do you wear to the presidential election thing? I laughed and said some people might wear red white and blue but you can wear anything you want.

6. We are none of us free unless ALL of us are free. I can't wait to see
the faces of all those who have not known true freedom yet, when Obama finally wins this thing.

I have a dream.........

7. Don't worry .
The world has plenty of pain and oppression to dispense. The fight never ends.

8. Sometimes, being a black candidate has helped Obama.
People just don't get that feeling of affirmation from voting for a woman. Everybody has had a chance to vote 'for' or 'against' a woman, but large swaths of the country have never had a chance to vote for a black candidate.

Voting for Doug Wilder as Gov. of Virginia was a good feeling.

11. By the way, to quote Boris Johnson....
"black people the world over will be able to see how a gifted man has been able to smash through the ultimate glass ceiling".
