My boss asked me today how she could find out if she was registered to vote
She is a republican. She said she hadn't voted in a long time (I know she didn't vote in 2004) and didn't know if she was still registered. I told her she could go online to our county election office and find out if she was still registered.

Then she said she really wanted to make sure and vote for "my man". I asked who is that and she said John McCain. She said "that other guy is nuts".

So I said well the registration deadline was Monday and if you don't vote they remove you from the registration rolls. She said "oh no, my dad will be so mad at me for not voting". I said "Well I will appreciate you sitting this one out."

Are all Republicans this stupid? I honestly don't know very many.

4. I would have been tempted to say...
"Oh didn't you hear? You don't need to register before hand. Just show up at your polling place on Nov 4th!"

Guess you're a better person than me...

9. Actually I have no idea if they take you off the rolls if you don't vote
But I gave her the impression they do. :)

14. Congratulations.. today you have achieved LUSERDUM
status.

That is as bad as anything a Republican might try to supress the vote of a Democrat or Independent.

23. You have zero clue
who Proud2blib is and how fucking hard she works. She is no loser and she is not supposed to be aiding and abetting the morans by helping an incompetent boss, who has done many lame things, figure out if she is going to get to vote - she told her to go on line and find out.

What do you think she should have done, rushed around screaming in a circle yelling "OH NOSE!!!! YOU MAY NOT BE REGISTERED TO VOTE!!! OH HOLY SHIT GET IN MY CAR AND I WILL RUSH YOU DOWN TO THE REGESTRAR OF VOTERS OFFICE AND HOLD YOUR WEE, LITTLE HAND WHILE WE TALK TO THE NICE OLD LADIES!!!! I WOULD NOT WANT YOU TO MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE YOUR DADDY PROUD OF YOU BY VOTING FOR MCDUMBSHIT"

YOU should be nicer to people who have a proven track record of being a great citizen.

16. Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing...
A woman at work keeps saying she doesn't know who to vote for...I hope in my heart of hearts that she doesn't vote...she's a closet racist who, when pressed, would vote McCain just due to race alone!

8. Well, the ones I know are.
One happened to be in Paris on business during the 2004 vote.
He knew he was going to be there during voting day, but didn't think about voting absentee.
He told me he went to the U.S. embassy to see if there wasn't some way he could vote there.
Uh...No.
I bet they thought he was nuts.
Oh...he is.

Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 04:56 PM by eshfemme
She's only voting because she's afraid of her daddy? And she views her presidential candidate as a disturbing standin for a significant other? I know I'm being hyperbolic but that sort of language is disturbing to me. "My man" and "my dad would be mad" shouldn't be reasons to do stuff for any woman.

12. She's an idiot
We had an ice breaker one time at a meeting where we had to tell one thing about our family and she said "My dad told me to never trust a Democrat".

And I honestly believe she is the only republican there.

Like I said, she's an idiot.

25. Oh yeah, she knows
On Monday she asked me if I had gone to see Obama (he was here on Sat) and I said yes I had. Then I changed the subject, because, as you know, she is a twit but she is my boss and I just don't talk politics with her.

I know I don't have to go into details about what I do for a living and considering that, how appalling her support of the GOP is to me. But 80% of the time she is a good boss and thank the Goddess I don't have to hang out with her socially. But every couple months she says something stupid like she said today and I just shake my head at how ignorant she is.
