http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/22/palin-clothes-spending-ha_n_136740.html

Since her selection as John McCain's running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, and even her infant son, it was reported on Tuesday evening.

The republicans are about to lose 25-30 house seats AND 7-10 Senate seats and they're clothing the kid too.

If I were a republican I'd be pissed my money was being used to cloth the family. Doesn't she make any money working as governor of Alaska?

8. lol! And the repukes are now saying that those clothes will be going to charity. How are they
going to explain that to little Piper, Willow and Bristol (I guess she has an ever increasing wardrobe) that the clothes on their back are going to be taken away? I wouldn't want to be there when that happens!

12. I can understand wanting to spruce up the kids but not the way it was paid for.
After all, if you were the RNC, would you want the kids to look like this?

18. You know, this clothing and travel issue makes the children a consideration
in evaluating her as a candidate for office. Whether one has children is not typically relevant in a campaign but this kind of abuse makes having children an issue to consider. It raises questions about the financial impact of hiring her if the government is expected to foot the bill for clothing, personal travel, etc. for her family. If she wants to bring her kids along with her, that's her decision, but it is her responsibility to pay for their travel, wardrobe, schooling, nannies, etc.

She has said more than a few times how she went right back to work after Trig and Piper were born, bringing them to the office a couple days after birth. Not many women have the luxury of bringing their newborn babies to work and setting up a swing and bassinet in the office. Of course, now that we know she billed Alaska for working at home, I realize the office she meant was probably her home office.

For a self-described "fiscal conservative" reformer who claims to have rid the government of waste and abuse, she seems quite content to game the system to her own benefit.
