10. if it is anything like the one I went to...

There will probably be more people then they expect show up. They will want to sign you up for phone banking and canvassing. You can use Obama neighbor to neighbor on your My Obama. This will give you a list of local people to call and canvas. It's pretty amazing really. :)

If you sign up to canvass, take a bag and a clip board. The clip board for your locations/map and any feedback the campaign needs. Did vote/obama supporter..ect. on your down ticket candidates too.
Bag for your campaign material and water bottle and snack. Walking gets you hungry and thirsty, but it's real fun.

I'm phone banking tomorrow and canvassing my precinct on Sat and Sun. It's fun...you meet lots of supporters as during GOTV, we knock on friendly doors and leaner doors. GOP...do not get a knock or a call from us.

Hmmmm, I'm hoping they have a different approach. I know we're expecting bus loads of out of staters and Canadians who want to volunteer in NH, so maybe they have a plan for that.

They will also be asking for people to house out of town volunteers for the last weekend through the election.

Basically all you need is enough floor space for a sleeping bag or two.

13. I went last Saturday

We went through the organization on election day. An organizational chart format with the "grunts" organized into three groups (red, white and blue).

White Team = comfort (food beverages) and runners.
Red Team = Observers, line watchers and reporters from the polling places.
Blue Team = phones and canvassing.

If they follow our script they will also do a little theater to illustrate how the teams will interact on election day.

I'm going to a meeting tonight to go over more specifics and this Saturday is an all day dress rehearsal.
