McCain and RNC actually REDUCING Pennsylvania Ad Buys in the Coming Week
PA Ad Buys for the coming week (previous week in parens):

Obama 2,970,000 (3,337,000)
McCain: 1,811,000 (1,780,000)
RNC: 255 (425)

Obama reducing PA by $370,000
RNC reducing ad buys $150,000

McCain Increasing Ad Buys $31,000

He's just *saying* that he's choosing to fight there. He actually increased ad buys more in Colorado.

That's a reduction of $120,000 in PA ad buys on the Republican side. It's a scam. Stop falling for it.

Either way they lose.

2. I Considered It Might Be A Headfake
Thankfully, Obama's camp is too smart to fall for it anyway AND they have enough money to simply ignore whatever McCain does and stick to whatever strategy they've already devised.

3. Did he ever actually say anything about PA?
I know that a source said that CO, NM and IA were "gone" and that would leave his only shot at flipping a blue state. Did people just run wild or what?

4. Interesting Information, Sir
On the face of it, The Quaker State certainly seems a dry hole for them.

In Colorado, the reptiles control the state election machinery, which makes it more promising a field for their hopes, as these can be assisted by sharp practice known to be underway already.

5. I don't think Obama has altered his strategy one whit
Obama formulated a GE strategy about a year ago and he's pretty much stuck to it.

6. That says McCain is increasing ad buys by 31,000 ads.
Something isn't right with your numbers or assertion.

7. And the RNC is reducing ad buys by 150,000
For a combined McCain + RNC ad buy reduction of $120,000, or exactly what my post said.

Reading is fundamental.

9. The RNC numbers are missing some zeros.
Math is fundamental

11. You thought the RNC was only spending 455 DOLLARS in the state?
I can see why you're confused in that case.

You're right that I didn't transfer those zeroes over. I didn't edit it because I thought common sense would prevail.

In any case, my post was correct.

13. I thought it might have been ads.
I'm not in advertising, so I don't know how they count this stuff. Also, RNC is cutting spending by $170K. That discrepancy threw me off.

14. You're right!
$170,000

So the actual reduction is $140,000 or so.

Thanks!

10. I have have read an opinion that the McCain camp just said that they are focusing on PA
to keep the media from talking about all those Bush states, where McCain is trailing. They fear that it might kill every enthusiasm that his supporters have left. So it's better when the media is talking about a blue state "in play".

I don't know if that is really the case, though.
