NC 45-year-old white woman voted for first time today for Obama!!!
I greeted at the polls today and a woman walked up to me at our table and said, "I am 45 years old and I've never voted and I'm here to vote today." She was so nervous about registering, but she had everything she needed and went over the sample ballot with me several times. She kept apologizing about being so nervous (her hands were shaking), but she went inside and registered and voted!

When she came back out she was in tears and gave us all a big hug and got her "I voted early" sticker. My god, that made me week!

5. Thanks for pissing in our cornflakes.
She took a sample democratic ballot into the polling place with her and when she came out she hugged me, the democratic greeter. So I'm guessing she voted . . . wait for it . . . democratic.

How do I know YOU voted for Obama?

7. We're turning NC BLUE!!!!
Remember that you have to vote for president separately. The straight party vote doesn't include prez. (NC had 92,000 ballots in 2004 with no vote for prez.)

8. Absolutely - I've been pushing that fact to everyone I know (well, at least the Dems...)
for the past week. I have my sample ballot filled out, judges and all.

9. If AP polls her tomorrow, she'll be dumped from the likely voters tally
Seriously, they don't ask people if they've already voted. Even if they offer they have already voted, if they answer yes to "is this your first time voting" they are automatically dumped from teh likely voter model.

10. Great story!
Isn't GOTV the greatest? People who don't do it don't realize what they are missing. It is hard work, but so fulfilling.

11. I have chills.....
though I'm not sure why. It's very touching though.

I'm 45, though it certainly won't be the first time I vote. I'm also in NC. I can't imagine voting for the first time ever at this age; but what a monumental first vote for her.

I'm so proud of her, whoever she is!!!!!

:applause:

Maybe NC WILL go BLUE after all!!!!
