Full detail on the 44-43 poll from GFK
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 02:10 PM by CreekDog
two :wtf:

33% of likely voters are rural?
34% of likely voters have incomes > $100k?
(edit: misread this initially...57% > $50k although the breakout has 23% > $100k)

(edited a second time to also add: 34% of LV in the South?)

6. That 34% was only of those making over 50k
57% made over 50k, and 34% of those made over 100k. So 100k would represent 19.4% of the likely voters. In 2004 they made up roughly 18% of LV. The rural vs urban split is totally off though.

7. AP radio is screaming these numbers from the mountaintops

The poll is a CLEAR outlier, but no matter....gotta make it look as even as possible.

I really feel that this selective reporting of polls is irresponsible, especially in the absence of any demographic information.

BTW....AP went right wing a few months ago when they said they were going to report opinion as well as fact. What they meant is that they were going to put a right-wing spin on all of their reporting. They are the enemy.

10. "Intensity has increased among McCain's supporters."
Tee hee. Unless intensity = panic

"A month ago, Obama had more strong supporters than McCain did. Now, the number of excited supporters is about even."

Uh, yeah, and I have a bridge in my pocket that is happy to see ya.

12. Many flaws but probably the major one lies in the regions polled.
Region/Total/Likely

Northeast/19/21
Midwest/22/23
South/36/34
West/23/21

Notice the incredible inflation on numbers for the South compared to other areas. This is especially noticeable in comparison to the Northeast where the difference is nearly 2:1. Combine that with the other flaws and there's little choice but to conclude that this poll was requested in an attempt to create desired numbers.

I'm sure the results of this poll will be posted with due "concern" a hundred or so times in the upcoming week but I wouldn't fret over it.
