I was going to brush this whole "clothesgate" off as a minor tempest in a teapot but was curious enough to break out the calculator.

Palin crash landed on us the day after the Democratic Convention, August 29th. I know it seems like forever, but that was only about 54 days ago.

So my calculator tells me that the RNC has spent $2800 every single day to dress Palin and (I assume) her family. That's almost double what most people's monthly mortgage is.

7 houses and 12 cars and a $2800 a day clothing budget. Oh yeah, these people are definitely "just like me."

1. I don't think I could spend $2,800 a day on open-toed, wedge-heeled sandals if I TRIED HARD.
But Gov. Palin obviously is an over achiever.

2. BALLSY is what I'd say
particularly for a party claiming a connection with working people.

3. Its Patriotic - She Is Personally Trying To Combat Dropping Retail Sales Figures
When 9/11 occurred, George Bush told Americans to shop. Like Bush, in the face of the fiscal crisis, Sarah Palin is leading by example, and hitting the malls.

Bravo Sarah. Bravo.

4. Well, she has to put on a new outfit for every place she goes,
so that's what, probably 3 outfits a day on average. $900+ per COSTUME.

What's your problem??

6. Ya know, the Republicans really have a lot of nerve to claim to be for the "little guy"
when Cindy wears a 300,000 outfit to the RNC convention
When McCains own 8-10 houses and 12 cars, and a JET
When Palin goes on a 150k shopping spree at Saks, Neimans, Barneys, Macy's, etc.
When neither of these people are good at paying taxes
When all of their policies are directed at the wealthiest Americans and corporations
When Palin owns a plane, a house right on the water, that she got built for free or damn near close to it
When she charges tax payers to fly her kids around the country, when they should be in school getting some learnin' and not popping up pregnant.
and I could go on and on.

8. Cindy and Sarah: "LET THEM EAT CAKE."
They're a couple of Marie Antoinettes, addressing the suffering masses while tricked out in expensive clothes.
