Simple: Al Qaeda does not want other countries to like and support the US.
Of course they want the U.S. to be disliked by the world b/c it furthers their cause. The last thing they want is a U.S. President that the world could get behind.

Furthermore, if we are going to get through this economic crisis, we have to make the world believe once again in U.S. leadership. Otherwise, we are screwed. Why do you think Kramer from mad money said that with Obama we'll have a recession and with McCain we'll have a great depression?
