John McCain's $8,000-a-Month Make-up Habit

Sarah Palin isn't the only one on the Republican ticket who has spent an excessive amount of money dolling herself up for her public appearances. According to the Washington Post, crotchety old man John McCain spent a staggering $8,672.55 on a professional make-up artist in the month of September, and a slightly less-staggering $5,583.43 in August. McCain's foundation-applier is Tifanie White, who also does up the contestants on American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Unfortunately, all the make-up in the world can't cover up his weird facial tics and excessive blinking.

We previously estimated that Palin spent around $7,050 on a team of hair, make-up, and style professionals, which now looks either like a low-ball estimate or a total bargain.

Barack Obama, it should be noted, doesn't have to spend a dime on make-up because he has the blemish-free skin of a beautiful brown angel. (Even in high-definition!)

He and Palin keep talking about "having the scars to prove it," and because I don't see any, he must use a ton of makeup to cover them up.

7. I was watching him on some show the other day, and it struck me that he was wearing a lot of makeup.

I know they wear some when on TV, but this looked really excessive, or just not well done, to me. Hey, John, you can get makeup pretty cheap over at Walgreen's. But it's good of you to spread your wealth to those in the makeup artist industry.
