Remember Michelle's appearance on The View?
If memory serves correctly it was reported that the dress she wore was less then 200.00 off the rack. It was beautiful. My take on Sarah's exorbitant wardrobe is that she is making up for her lack of confidence and abilities. If she really wanted my vote she would be much more conservative with the dollar and she would appear on the more mainstream programming that I tend to watch. I understand that she will be on the NBC new tonight but it seems that when she goes on the more mainstream programs the campaign is a little nervous about letting her appear alone.

It's kind of funny to me. Makes me wonder if they realize that we really are paying close attention to what is going on. They are all in such a bubble I don't thing they get that.

1. She's genuinely a pleasant to look at woman.
Probably looks good in jeans and a t-shirt.

3. Michelle wears less expensive and much more expensive clothes
I think what is neat about her is that she's not a snob. She won't pass up a dress just because it's less expensive. KWIM?

Cindy McCain, on the other hand, probably wouldn't be caught dead in something from Macy's, even though she might love it.

7. Michelle loves Target, supposedly
and I swear one of the little light cardigans I saw her in on the trail this summer was one of theirs from Issac Mizrahi.

A stylish and confident woman can mix costume jewelry and diamonds, a Target sweater, and a Macy's dress with high-end designer shoes and a handbag from Hermes and look amazing. I'm one of the few that DO think the RNC should have outfitted her and her family appopriately after dragging them onto the national stage (with less $$ of course, 150K is nuts), but true style comes from within.

Michelle has it. And all the designer clothes in the world won't buy it for Sarah Palin.

4. I don't care how much she spends on clothing - if it's HER MONEY -
Nobody got on Hillary Clinton about how much her pantsuits and accessories cost because she paid for it all out of her own pocket.

That's why the stupid 'how much does Obama spend on his suits?' question isn't a good question. If his campaign contributors or the DNC aren't paying for his suits the price-tag doesn't matter.

the RNC put clothes on Palin's back and words in her mouth....is there ANYTHING real about her?

WHO IS THE REAL SARAH PALIN??

5. Michelle Obama has good taste and her own style. She can take a $150 dress and make it look great.
Michelle Obama reminds me of Jackie Kennedy in this respect, and in fact I think she is echoing Jackie in her style. Like Michelle, Jackie could wear a set of faux pearls and make them look better than all the real diamonds in the room. Also, they are two of the very few women who can wear a shift dress without looking like a sack of potatoes. Some people just have an unerring sense of their own style. Michelle Obama has got it.

Sarah Palin has good bones, nice coloring, and a good figure, but she has zero sense of style. She makes $150,000 worth of clothes look like she's wearing last week's rumpled laundry. It's never a good idea to buy expensive designer clothes off the rack without integrating them into one's own style. Palin has none. She ends up looking tacky when she wears trendy clothes.

It's not the money - it's the style. You either have it or you don't. Sarah Palin would do better to stick with classic, subdued clothes. She would look professional and nobody would bat an eye. This is the approach that Hillary Clinton uses, and it works.

8. She Had This Little GAP Dress
with black leggings at an outdoor event - The dress was $69.00.

It doesn't take big bucks to have style

9. You can be sure Caribou Barbie did NOT pick out her new wardrobe
Think they would entrust her, with her cheap tacky taste, with that kind of $$$ to buy clothes. No way. They had a professional stylist shop and dress her.

I wonder how many trunks of clothes Cindy has with her on the campaign trail? I'm sure she has her own stylist and makeup/hair team with her 24/7, too. And they dare portray themselves as just 'regular folks' while Obama is the elitist! And what's with the huge USA/Flag pins now. I'm surprised Cindy or CBarbie can even stand up straight with all the diamonds (or in CB's case- cz's) weighing them down.

11. Joy Behar pointed that out today on The View...
she reminded the audience that Michelle Obama wore a $125 dress and looked gorgeous. This took place during the discussion about Palin's expensive wardrobe.
