Analysis: Socialist tag doesn't fit Obama
ST. CHARLES, Mo. — "Make no mistake," Republican activist John Hancock told a John McCain rally in this St. Louis suburb, "this campaign is a referendum on socialism."

Republicans have been pounding that theme in recent days, even though Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama hardly fits the classic definition of a socialist.

Critics point to Obama's plan to raise the top two tax rates on the wealthy as clear evidence of his socialist bent.

However, Len Burman, the director of the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, said that while Obama "would make the tax system more progressive overall, it would not be a radical shift."

It wouldn't qualify as socialism.

WARREN BUFFET.

For so long the Pugs have gotten away with bamboozeling and bombarding Americans with non-sensical bullshit that labels DEMS as this and that. It's not working this time around, but they will NEVER quit because bullshit, lies, deception, and criminal conduct are all part of thier DNA.

3. I'm hearing it from neighbors and others. I just look at them like they don't know
what they're talking about, because they don't. I'd like to give them a civics lesson on the actual definitions of socialism and communism, but I think I'd be wasting my time. Usually, in just trying to explain them to people, they immediately conclude your a socialist/communist.

5. Since 2001, 75% of the newly generated wealth went to the top 1% of the population
Can't really blame anyone for wanting socialism at this point.
