Poll question: On a scale of one to ten, how confident are you today that Obama will win?
I gave him a 9. To me, there are no 10s in politics.

5. Not now. It's too late for that.
Obama is seen as the leader, any incident will have all eyes on him.

Forget mcPOW or chimpy.

6. 7.
I get a little more confident each day, but Diebold remains a concern.

If we could be assured a fair election, I'd say 9.99.

7. Anyone that said "10" forgets Gore in 2000 and hasn't read about voting machines.
Anything can happen. Anything. ANYTHING.

It could come out tomorrow that instead of Obama being in Hawaii visiting his ill grandmother that he was really in Vegas gambling and picking up hookers. YOU NEVER KNOW. John Fucking Edwards taught me that lesson.

We've heard all about how voting machines are switching votes from Obama to McCain, glitches in diebold machines, HACKS of voting machines, voter fraud, election fraud, voter intimidation at polls, voter registration purges...

They are going to do EVERYTHING in their power to steal this thing. Until Obama's hand is placed on the Bible and he is sworn in on January 20th, I can't relax.

29. Obama campain is nothing like Gore or Kerry. More states in play. Better ground game.
But I voted 9 because anything can happen.

9. 9. We win unless it is stolen or the President declares Martial Law
........or some other such nonsense.

I'm not really fearful of that, but I never rule out anything, even the most tinfoilhatty worries completely.

I've been around long enough to keep my eyes on the pukes.

Without some outside intervention though, we win by a landslide of epic monumental proportions.

it's "only" an 8

What I don't understand is WHY something hasn't been done in the last four years to wrest the ultimate control out of the neocons' hands and back into non-partisan hands. Is that too much to at least ASK for?? Diebold, Sequoia, and their likes should be flattened.

14. My doubt is closet racism.
That people will tell polling firms that they are for O., but in private will still vote for the old, white guy. "Muslim" and "terrorist" are this year's euphemisms for Black.

17. I'm voting a "2" and here's why
because to vote higher than that means I am closing my eyes to the possibility of theft. And it also breeds complacency - "Hey this is locked up so why put out the effort"

Mind you, I'm a gal who already booked her hotel room in DC BUT I'll believe it's a 10 the moment that McCain concedes and all the court cases are closed.

McCain.

But basically I feel a lot like I did in 1996. I felt then that President Clinton would almost certainly win reelection, But I was aware that there is always a possibility of things going the other way, especially if some unpredictable event were to suddenly occur.

As they say, it's not over until.........

As it stands now, if the Electoral map stands with strong Obama and leaning and if McCain* gets the toss-ups, Obama should still win.

However, with the touch-screen issues, voter suppression, etc., you never know.

33. I'm nearly certain that Obama will win the popular vote
I do think there is like a 5% chance (or less) that McCain might pull off a win in the EC but running the tables in some very close races in places like NC, FL, NV, CO, OH and possibly flipping PA on the basis of huge racist turnout in Western PA. I think Murtha spoke the truth about the people there. And a huge undetected racist surge, could flip PA.

I doubt that will happen. But it's the only hope McCain has. If it happens, he may lose the popular vote by a pretty hefty margin, but still be elected president.

Elections can be stolen.

But I'm feeling very positive about this election. I wasn't feeling positive at all about 2004.

37. I'm more confident than in 2004.
Obama has a terrific ground game, there was nothing even remotely like it in '04... in this area, anyway.

That said, I realize that nothing is guaranteed but have done more and given more than I ever had before, so (speaking for myself) I can look back without regret, regardless of the outcome. I'm sure many others can say the same.

39. If not for the cheating
I'd be at about 99.98% certain and I still feel like a 9 isn't going out on a thin limb because I think they'd have to cheat outside of the realm of reasonable doubt for too many people, even a few that are on their side.
