How not to apologize
Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann says she regrets using the term "anti-American" while discussing Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's views, a remark that could threaten her re-election bid. Bachmann told the St. Cloud Times on Tuesday that she "made a big mistake" by going on MSNBC's "Hardball," a show she said she'd never seen before her appearance last week. Her statement to host Chris Matthews that Obama "may have anti-American views" drew condemnation and helped her opponent, Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg, raise more than $1 million in just a few days. During an interview with the Times' editorial board, Bachmann said she walked into a trap and did not bring up the term "anti-American." Still, she said, "I should not have used that phrase."

Oh yes Tweety so often "traps" his guests. Think of all the times he trapped Tom Delay and all the other republican guests by agreeing with them. Wait she's an elected official of the US congress that has never seen hardball before? Like ever. It's considered one of the few hard hitting daily news shows. A real inside the beltway show. It has republican leaders on all the time. How could you not see it? Well at least she apologized... sort of. I mean it's your fault if you heard her call you unAmerican. She would never use that term over and over again if Tweety hadn't suggested the word. One can only imagine what she would have called you had Tweety not suggested a more TV friendly word. So there you go Republicans easily fooled, easily swayed into putting words in their mouth. Exactly the kind of person you want in Congress.

2. If by "trap" she means...
... he kept quiet and gave her enough rope to hang herself... then yes, it was a trap.

You let these idiots talk long enough they are going to say something inflammatory. Matthews has it down to a science at this point.
