Biden was correct, IMHO. Obama WILL be tested; any new president would. But here's the point: in this "testing" we will have the goodwill of our allies all over the world, as W never did or deserved (except for just after 9/11 when we didn't know how awful he'd turn out).

Obama has already impressed 3 of our important Western European allies with his trip last summer. The people of the democratic European countries are wildly supportive of Obama. I feel assured that he will have these nations' eager willingness to stand by America and help us any way they can. His election will renew their faith in our greatness and restore their hope for peace.

Christopher Buckley nailed it: Obama has a "first class temperament and a first class intellect." Colin Powell talked about the importance of "judgment." And they are Republicans.

We are standing on the brink of a new day. And not a moment too soon...

4. Yup. He said it before I heard about it on KO and Rachel's show.
I was like..."Well fuck!" There really wasn't anything left to say. We have a damn debt that is out of control, our boys in Afghanistan have little to no backup and it doesn't look like Bush will be doing anything about it, and we have our kids in Iraq, added to that the issue of Guantanimo Bay...Bush seriously fucked up and O is paying the price.

8. I heard him say it way early on in the campaign and suddenly McPhalin picked up on it now?
They sure are slow but I guess John IS old. Seriously, nothing wrong with what Biden said. Even David Shrum of all people said it was a non issue last night.

2. There was nothing wrong with Biden's statement.
Those who tried to twist it and make it about Obama's experience were doing it to help McCain. That's pretty obvious.

6. I totally agree that there is nothing wrong with Biden's statement.
I'm old enough and I think savvy enough politically to "smell" when something is a real issue and when it is not. And this wasn't. I was just trying to look at another side of it. Obama is certainly going to be welcomed on the world stage much more than McLame...

3. No, please let's not....
... I understand your point and I appreciate the sentiment but it was ALWAYS a non-issue.

The MSM just latched onto it because they had nothing else (bad) to say about the Obama campaing.

Can we PLEASE continue talking about Sarah's clothes instead? :)

5. Well, I see your point too but mind goes to the issue of "who do you want to lead us in a crisis?"
I for one did not know that McCain was such a loose cannon before this campaign but now I do and that, plus Palin, has put the fear of god in me and probably lots of other people, too. If voters vote their fears this is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Of course, I love the clothes issue, too. It goes to people's disgust with Republican hypocrisy. This just keeps on getting better...
