I hate to say it's over, but.....
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 08:12 AM by Kerry2008
What the hell can McCain do electorally?

His campaign gave up on Michigan already. Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are all out of reach. CNN is reporting that McCain is conceding Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico.

So McCain is making a risky play trying to win all the 2004 Bush states and pick up Pennsylvania.

Rendell said he's worried about Obama, because he hasn't visited since October 11th. I think the Obama campaign needs to send Hillary to PA to keep the state motivated. But still, we have double digit leads there.

Obama leads in Virginia, we're making big plays for the state. He's there today.

Obama leads in Colorado, Biden is there today.

Obama leads in Iowa, New Mexico, Ohio, Florida, and Nevada.

He's tied in North Carolina, Missouri, and Indiana.

Hell even Montana, North Dakota, West Virginia, and Georgia are looking more promising. Probably not winnable, but promising.

I was playing with the CNN map, and I gave McCain two of the states that Bush and Kerry were fighting over in 2004--Ohio and Florida Even if he loses both states, he still wins all the Kerry states from 2004. He'll win in New Mexico and Iowa. So then he just needs one state. Colorado or Virginia is bound to go blue, if not both of them. If it's Colorado, Obama would win a narrow margin of 270-268. If it's Virginia Obama wins 277-261. That's only considering IF the map looks just like 2004 with only New Mexico, Iowa, and one of those two states going for Obama. That's scenario isn't likely when Obama leads all three states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. And several other battlegrounds.

Obama leads in spending in TV advertisements in these states by what? 3 to 1? 4 to 1?

He's got himself, Joe Biden and Michelle Obama on the trail trying to pick off states like Colorado and Virginia. He's got Hillary Clinton trying to solidify more conservative areas where we're winning and could win in November.

This is fucking beautiful. The only logical way McCain could get close is an 269-269 tie. And Obama would still win that way.

I hate to say it, but let's ride the momentum. We've won.

That's not being too cocky. I'm not saying let up any or stop volunteering. In order to coast to victory, we have to work hard. And this is all before they try and STEAL the election. Which is why we need as many voters to the polls as POSSIBLE!!

RIDE. THE. MOMENTUM.

We did it.

1. They could still steal a few states, perhaps.
Anything to allow them to dispute that Obama will have a clear mandate.

They could fiddle with the popular vote, of course, or keep a few Congressional seats from the Dems.

2. In order to win all the Bush states, he'd have to win VA, NM and IA
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 08:08 AM by AZSlacker
And that isn't looking likely. So even if he pulls off a MIRACLE win in PA, he is still going to loose, since there are 25 EV's between VA, NM, and IA and PA only has 21.

5. It's beautiful, isn't it? The Obama campaign has created an unwinnable scenario for McCain.

6. Republicans count the votes.
We need overwhelming votes and win the political spin or we lose.
three times will not be a charm
