Obviously there is a "purpose" for his choice of photo.

ON EDIT: To me this is a beautiful photo, however we know what Drudge's intent was.

I wish my dad was still around to see this.

He passed 6 month short to see what he would have never thought possible.

Born "negro" in the deep South in 1933

The guy is such a racist fuck.

5. I think the only reason she won't is because of her crazy Kenyan preacher.
She doesn't want the msm to focus on that.

6. I agree this is a beautiful photo, for anyone who understands "anointing" rituals.
it means they are directing their prayers to lift up Obama to God's blessing.

If repukes claim to be "christians' they should applaud this photo.

I think this photo should be next to the one where an american indian tribes made him an honoray member...similar sentiment.

8. But, in all honesty there were videos of palin being anointed by her Kenyan preacher
and she was being mocked for it.

I think it's fine for either of them to do their religious thing. As long as they don't try to make me Christian I'm ok with that.

28. the Mocking of Failing was because he spoke of witch craft in the prayer
Just as we were finding out Muthee lead the charge to chase a woman out of a Village in Kenya because he accused her of Witch Craft.

Praying for someone is ok, chasing someone out of their home with the entire village behind you doing it, because of witchcraft is creepy

29. You are so right.
This photo doesn't move me at all. I am not interested in a candidates personal religious choice except when it could potentially interfere with his or her constitutional duties and I find the use of such images to convey some sort of piety exasperating. It's too bad that this sort of thing is necessary when running for public office in the U.S.

'cause everybody has some sort of Faith in them or else they wouldn't have faith in themselves....

I believe you are your own God, you just name it whatever you choose. It all exists in your dreams regardless.....

24. Similar perspective and setting.
High camera, crowded room, door in background. A future Presidency being blessed, but with tragedy in its wake and rough seas ahead.

14. These are the bishops of the AME Church…
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 08:06 AM by These Eyes
praying for Obama. I'm certain that Drudge wasn't in the room to know what was being prayed. The issue he may be trying to make later, if he's really that silly, is that AME stands for African Methodist Episcopal. The question will be, "Why is it African? Isn't that racist?," without trying to find out the history of the name of the denomination. We'll see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is where it goes.

On edit: The woman to the left of Obama in the photo is Bishop Vashti McKenzie, the first female bishop in the AME church's more than 200 year history.

18. Clearly, Drudge uses it for nefarious purposes.
I see nothing sinister about it.

But I'm with Maher on this. Every time I hear Obama talk glowingly about his faith, I hope to myself that he's lying and that we will finally have a president who doesn't run the country in a faith based manner.

For that reason, I do not see this picture as 'beautiful.'

You say this is an OLD photo?

The stock market's downward spiral?

His teflon defense to the Ayers attacks?

The Powell endorsement?

The discoveries of Palin's expensive taste in clothes?

Now it's all starting to make sense ......

"Thank ya Jesus ........... thank ya lord......" ;)

26. Last week, he had a photo of Obama campaigning, kissing a white woman on the cheek. We know...
why that photo was chosen also. I knew Drudge was wacko Rightwing, but didn't know he'd stoop to such blatant racism.
