more than even race

Do not get me wrong.

If we elect Barack Obama president, it will be a milestone in the struggle for racial equality. There is no doubt about that. And it will thrill me beyond belief.

And race will happily get dragged along anyway. :)

But another historic characteristic of his campaign excites me even more.

It's the bottom ---> up nature of his campaign.

I know he was criticized for being a "community organizer," but that makes it all the more wonderful.

His campaign wasn't incubated in some political consultant's offices for years. He started out in politics on street level, representing people that he cared for and wanted to help.

Sincerely, I feel like he has simply widened his street, and wants to help us all.

(Even rich people in the long run.)
