Obama leads NC 51 McCain 44! Hagan leads 49 Dole 42! NC Goin' BLUE!
Please excuse if this was posted yesterday, although I didn't see it. Finally got around to reading
the Raleigh Tuesday paper this a.m.

Obama, Hagan lead up

Obama's lead in North Carolina is widening, according to the latest numbers by Public Policy Polling.

The Democratic firm surveyed 1,200 likely voters on Oct. 18 and 19 and found that Obama has a 51-44 lead over McCain. That is the biggest lead yet for Obama in PPP's surveys.

PPP said Obama is faring well with independent voters, with a 51-33 lead over McCain. McCain leads 55-39 among white voters, while Obama leads 92-6 among black voters.

<snip>

Hagan leads, 49-42.

PPP officials said Hagan is "annihilating" Dole among suburban voters, 54-36.

The margin of error was plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

The importance of the independent vote favoring Obama is significant. We have a huge number
of independent voters in NC. Latest registrations from the NC Board of Elections:

Voter Registration as of 10/22/2008 Democratic: 2,823,247 Republican: 1,985,833 Libertarian: 2,994 Unaffiliated: 1,377,346 Total: 6,189,420

That is one senate race I have my eye on. I'd love to see NC, NH & KY all kick their current sentors to the curb.

10. Carolina blue! James Taylor was here to help Obama with FREE concerts.
I went to the one Monday night in Chapel Hill. It was great!

One of his comments had to do with when did government become so bad that he was advised to not use the word 'government'. I know when. Ronnie Reagan started this BS and it's time to stop! Government
can be used to benefit community. Taylor made the point.

9. Keep voting
As of last night, 559,266 absentee/early votes has been cast in NC, with 544,020 early votes. Over 300,000 were dem votes. Go to sboe.state.nc.us if you want to get the data. It's in the 2008 general election section. You can also go to various links and get the data from past elections.

But keep in mind one thing, NC has always had more registered dems than repubs. Usually, we vote repub pres & senate and dem in state races. We sent Jesse Helms to the Senate over and over again.

GOTV efforts are key to Obama winning this state. Identify the Obama voters and get them to the polls.
