Just read on a psychic blog:
Psychic Predictions for the 2008 Election

By ejoyce on Jan 17, 2008 in Articles, New Predictions

The male presidential candidate who runs with a woman vice presidential candidate on the ticket will win the election by a landslide.

..

My psychic sense tells me that not only will a woman become the nation’s first Vice President at the 2008 election, but she will be sworn in as president when the male president is forced to step down due to serious health issues or worse. I have also psychically stated that we will have a one-term president in 2008.

Talk me down... please!! :scared::scared:

8. ok. I hope she's wrong, but who could have foreseen all that in January?
Hopefully it's a horrible coincidence.

22. Here's exactly how it works...
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 02:44 AM by fiziwig
128 "psychics" predict the outcome of a particular weekend football game. By chance, half of them are right and half of them are wrong.

The following weekend, the 64 that were right each predict another football game. By chance, half of them are right and half of them are wrong.

The following weekend, the 32 that have been right twice in a row each pick the winner of the next game. Half of them are right and half of them are wrong, leaving 16 that have predicted three games in a row.

The following weekend, those 16 pick the winners of the next game. half of them are right and half of them are wrong, leaving 8 that have predicted FOUR games in a ROW!

Those 8 make their picks for the next weekend, and after the game, 4 were wrong and the four who were right have now picked FIVE games in a row!

Those 4 "psychics" pick their next game, and after the game, 2 were right and 2 were wrong. That leaves 2 psychics who have picked correctly SIX GAMES IN A ROW!!!! W@W!

So those 2 each pick one outcome of the next weekend game, and lo and behold, one is wrong, but the other psychic has now picked SEVEN GAMES IN A ROW!!!!

So this one psychic asks you for a thousand dollars to give you the winner of the next weekend game. Would you pay him? Think of all the money you could make betting on the game knowing it's a sure thing?

The fact is, there are SO MANY phony psychics on the Internet making predictions, that by IGNORING the ones that are wrong, and only looking at the rare one that is right, or appears to be close to right, STRICTLY BY CHANCE, you can make it seem like that one psychic is talented, rather than just being the one lucky one out of the batch.

Remember, there are about 6 million people in New York City, which means that MILLION TO ONE odds get broken, on average, six times a day in New York City, and 100 million to one odds get broken every time there is a winner in some state lottery, which happens several times a week.

So million to one, or even ten million to one odds are not hard to break at all when you've got millions of people trying.

My guess is this "psychic" was betting that one of the male candidates was going to pick Clinton as his running mate. She just got lucky when the "female VP" shoe ended up on the other foot.

So you, too, can be a psychic with a 100% record. Start with 1024 separate web sites. Week one, make half of them predict one game outcome and the other half predict the opposite game outcome. After the game, delete the 512 losing web sites and keep the 512winning one going.

10 weeks later, you will have one web site left that has made TEN PERFECT PREDICTIONS IN A ROW. The losing web sites don't exist any more, so the evidence of how you did it has been swept under the rug.

5. Kerry was predicted to win in 2004
(Of course, he kind of did....)

Personally, I don't believe predictions unless they're for the good stuff. By "good stuff" I don't necessarily mean "stuff I want" but I mean for love, peace, harmony, etc. That's where the universe naturally gravitates, although sometimes humans' free will gets in the way.

Plus, ahem. "Landslide"? That is simply not possible at this point. I'm not saying the possibility doesn't exist of massive election fraud, but even Republicans wouldn't try to pull off a landslide.

7. OK, Come off the ledge and stop reading bullshit if you're not mature enough to handle it.
Seriously, I've read some asinine posts here in the last seven years, but freaking out because some nutjob "predicted" something as banal as this? It really wasn't much of a stretch considering the political landscape in January. :eyes:

15. And I apologize for being an ass about it.
I read so many "concern" threads here that it's hard to hold back at times. I should have looked more carefully at who it was and realized you're no concern troll.

Still, those sites are really stupid. I used to freak friends out by telling futures when I was younger. It's very easy to make predictions and make people believe them because its only the ones that come true that are ever remembered.

11. My plain-as-day advise to ejoyce is that she put some money back for a rainy day...
And either become a barista at a boutique coffee shop off the main drag, or a bartender at a full bar/saloon; cause her customers will likely then be the only ones able to comprehend her, here...another gem from ejoyce:

'Elizabeth Joyce is predicting that the next President and Vice President of the United States could be none other than John McCain and Condoleezza Rice. This will be the Republican ticket!' http://www.new-visions.com/john-mccain-and-condoleezza-rice.html

33. If one believed in her predictions it would have been
even worse if Clinton was VP for Obama.

It is easier to laugh off the possibility of McCain winning in a landslide now than the fear of something happening to Obama.
In fact since it likely was Obama/Clinton she was thinking of it was a snot assed prediction to give. Guess it's good he didn't pick Clinton

More correctly quoted,"My psychic sense tells me that not only will a woman become the nation’s first Vice President at the 2008 election..."

The first VP was a man. You lose by a couple hundred years...

if it makes you feel any better it seems as though she was banking on an Obama/Clinton ticket which obviously didn't come to pass.

Also, this competing psychic in the comments may help you relax.

Is Joe Biden really a woman?
No?
Then this "psychic" is a fraud just like every other.

Psychic defined is fraud trying to steal your money.

I see the letter "m".

Yes your friend Micheal is calling you. Has he recently passed?
No? Well my spirit guide tells me he will be fine.

28. It all depends on one consideration - Crystals
Specifically did she have a trapezoidally cut peridot in her Poop Chakra when she made this prediction? Most psychics choose the correct chakra but use the wrong cut of peridot. Only the true masters know that for political predictions only a TRAPEZOIDAL crystal will do, and it has to be at 15 degrees along it's lateral axis when uranus is in ascension.

32. I'll start believing in psychics when they can actually name specifics in their predictions
Name the people involved. Instead of "male candidate", "female candidate", use their names if you are so damn good and accurate. Or something very descriptive about them so that we can easily know who you are talking about. "Barack Obama" or "the male candidate from Illinois".

Same with the locations and dates. Instead of "in a short while", how about saying an actual date, like "December 10, 2008"? Instead of "in the West", how about a city and street, like "Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles"?
