Pennsylvania
http://www.270towin.com/states/Pennsylvania

1968 - D . . . 1972 - R . . . 1976 - D . . . 1980 - R . . . 1984 - R . . . 1988 - R . . . 1992 - D . . . 1996 - D . . . 2000 - D . . . 2004 - D

This state has voted Republican before - but only when the rest of the country also did so OVERWHELMINGLY. Nixon in '72, Reagan in '80 and '84, Bush Sr. in '88

It should be noted that in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1988">1988, Pennsylvania was one of the three closest states - Bush Sr. won by only 2.31%

Gore beat Bush by 4.17% in 2000.

Obama is leading by 15% in 2008. We should believe McCain's "internal polls" instead?

WTF makes the MSM think they can hoodwink us all into thinking PA could go for McCain?

1. I LOVE the explanation a pollster gave on 538.com:

McCain wants to restore some morale to his campaign--he knows his base is sick of hearing about how one red state after another is turning into a swing-state. So, by telling them that he can not only pull close but WIN in Pennsylvania, his people are saying: "It's OK, guys! We can still win this one! So remember to vote on November 4th instead of staying home and drinking all day!"

In other words, this may be a morale boost that'll (maybe?) help him win over people in these swing states. He can't actually campaign in those places, 'cuz he's rapidly running low on cash.

3. The M$M Really Doesn't Buy It...
But they're contractually obligated to report their campaign's talking points as if it were fact.
