Why doesn't the spell checker recognize Obama's name? At this stage in the 2008 election season, shouldn't all spell checkers be programmed to recognize the name of the next President of the United States?

I'm sorry, but I find that odd? I suppose I need a new program! But aren't they suppose to update this stuff frequently?

8. Actually I only have "Word Perfect"

although I have thought about getting Firefox! I have a friend that has it and it seems to work great.

It's not DU, it's your computer.
You can change your computer to recognize it -- just click on the red underlined word and add it to your vocab.

7. I still get the red highlight too!

It's not a big deal. I just think that in the age of the Wikipedia, programs should be updated faster to reflect the times!

2. Whenever I see the word "Omaha," I think "Obama."

I'm sure you find that fascinating. Just thought I'd mention that. It has nothing to do with anything, but you made a very good point with your OP.

3. Once Obama becomes president, his name will go in every English dictionary on the planet.
If you don't believe me, pick up your Random House and look for Eisenhower, Coolidge, or Taft. They'll be there.
