1. It is important to honor the people who loved
and cared for you. This is a very wise woman who instilled that respect.

2. And as a cold, political, calculation . . .
Demonstrates -- as almost nothing else could -- that he holds "family values" very close to his heart.

3. Which is why it's not a political calculation in the first place.
He really does have family values.

5. Agreed. However, I bet there was a fair amount of soul-searching . . .

Along the lines of "can we dare to do this right now?"

Apparently, Obama concluded "Yes we can."

6. Contrast how McCain let Cindy sit at home alone, through crisis after crisis
and couldn't be bothered to even pretend to be a husband, or someone who cared enough to take the time to come home when she had her many issues over the years.

Or even stay with his first wife, after coming home and finding her new weight gain made her too ugly for him to contemplate.

My dislike of the kind of man McCain is grows every day that I witness multiple acts by Obama that represent the kind of man others should try to emulate. No, he sure isn't perfect, but he gets the basics down pretty well. McCain isn't even at that level yet, more less able to go beyond.

7. My intense dislike of McCain began years ago when he ignored
her when she had become addicted to drugs.

8. Cindy McCain - as I watch it - is in a pitiful situation. I WOULD SO KICK HIS ASS

9. selfless
It takes a lot of love and selflessness to postpone campaign events for an ailing grandmother in quite possibly Barack's most important time.....he is an exemplary person
