1. There's nothing wrong with being a Socialist...
Socialism is basically utilizing the public treasury, or our taxes, to ensure the services we put into place benefit the most people possible, rather than enriching the few, who have been greatly benefitting from our system in place now, which is unfettered and deregulated Capitalism. I don't hear anyone talking about dictatorships (McCain has stupidly made the same 'dictator' joke as Bush has done several times), or fascism, or racism in the MSM, which has a much worse track record.

3. Nothing wrong with Democratic Socialists. Obama is certainly not one...
...in my opinion he's just a little left of center... But I consider myself a Democratic Socialist and don't shy away from it.

5. Socialist
We should be so lucky to have it as good as the Scandinavian countries. Cradle to grave health care, free education, a place where they have a longer lifespan the we do and lower child mortality rate. Best of all they have legal pot, that clinches it for me.

7. Scandinavia isn't all sweetness and light
Right-wing fucktards are hard at work there, trying to turn their governments into theocracies, too. It's just that--so far--they haven't gotten as far with it as they have here in the US.

10. I'm a Democraitc Socialist
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 11:32 PM by Rambis
So is Ed Asner. :)

"Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically—to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed through greater economic and social democracy so that ordinary Americans can participate in the many decisions that affect our lives."

12. Well, with Bush's huge bailout plan and Bachman's concerns about anti-Americans
We could always call them the National Socialist Party.

Hmm. Why does that name sound familiar?
