Does Obama know something about South Carolina?
I was watching MSNBC earlier and I thought I heard that Obama was putting money into SC. I live in NC and never thought SC would ever go blue.

1. I heard he was advertising in Greenville
because the media market stretches into NC.

Other than that, I haven't heard anything else.

2. What he knows is that there are votes to be had here
Part of governing is winning with an undeniable majority.

He might not win this state (who knows) but if he gets enough votes here - and in places like this - it sure helps him when he tries to move his campaign from the "this is what I want to do" to the "this is what we are going to do"...

The usual lets not get ahead of ourselves warning applies...

3. I heard something similar earlier, Eugene Robinson, perhaps?

On MSNBC?

He said he is from SC and was visiting over the weekend, and saw nonstop Obama ads. He said it's highly unlikely SC will go Obama but Obama is putting money there "because he can."

Ya just never know with this one. Surprises abound.

:)

4. Early primary state. His campaign spent a lot of time there developing their ground game.
Why not give it a go?

6. This is a state with a small population.
I heard he was pumping five million dollars into this state to try to swing it over to blue. So, you never know.

7. A couple of congressional seats there have become competitive
It might be to help Linda Ketner and Rob Miller, if the turnout goes up, they could win.

8. All of the cities are already for him 100%!
It wouldn't take much to push the entire state over.

9. It could be a ploy to make the McSame campaign spend money there to defend itself.
That would give McSame less money to spend in other places where it might actually make a difference.
